Has anyone used this device? It says that it can not only give yardages to pins but also water hazards, bunkers, etc. Do the sky caddies do all of that? It also says that it can keep track of your stats as well. I went to the golf shop that does all my custom work and they are selling these there. I figured I would ask you all first before I jumped on one.

I am a techno-ho and have tried the Bushnell range finder, 1st gen SkyCaddie and the SureShot.
My course wasn't mapped so I took a quick walk around the course and mapped my targets (150 markers, bunkers, water, front-mid-back of greens.) I was able to get in a couple of rounds before winter set in and was impressed by it. It is easy to set up and use. The screen is large, clear and in color. I didn't use the scoring mode but it appears interesting.
The SkyCaddie was premapped (for a fee.) It didn't have the exact landmarks that I prefer for my course though it did have most bunkers, water and green distances mapped. It is smaller and with old generation screen not as easy to see.
The rangefinder is great but I spend most of my round with the squirrels and don't have a direct line of sight to the pin.
I find the GPS systems faster than the range finder. I am often the only walker in a 4 or 5 some. You would think the time to take the rangefinder out and zap the pin to be minuscule but it does add up. I use a BagBoy Navigator remote controlled cart with the Sureshot and direct it to my ball while I walk to it. By the time I get there the GPS has the yardage and I hit the shot.

there are 4 courses mapped in my area. one of them has closed down. I just can not justify the 400 bucks compared to the 275ish price for the sky caddy. Sure there is a yearly subscription, but with more courses popping up with sky golf's product, It is a no brainer for me.
Sky caddy is what I would pick.
Although the color screen looks nice.
