I just got a new Clicgear 3.0 Cart this week and wanted to find a nice holder where I could mount my Cell Phone (for using Golf GPS Apps).  I did some searching on here and found a few topics, but none that had a bunch of pictures that showed the RAM holder and what it actually looks like on the cart.  I'm a very visual person, so like to share pics.  The Mount feels VERY firm, high quality and I think will hold up very well.  I've never owned any RAM Mounts in the past, but the quality seems very good.  I'm going to order one to hold my phone in the car (windshield suction cup mount) as well.   It pops on and off the cart pretty easily, and I was able fold up the cart with the mount still attached (although sticks out a bit, so would be cautious about sticking it in/out of my vehicle).  I'm moutning a Samsung Galaxy Nexus Cell Phone, but the arms seem like they would hold most cells/GPS Units, etc.

I'll update this thread with a review once I get it out on the course for a loop to let you know how it goes!

I used my new Clicgear cart today and also want a mount for my phone/gps. Why didn't you just buy the mount they make for their cart?

That looks sweet. Osprey, Ram mounts are well known in the 'mount' industry. Many of the above parts are interchangeable, and can be moved from application/vehicle to whatever. I'm looking at some of their gear myself.

I'm making assumptions since I've never seen in person, but it appears on the Clicgear accessory that there is an adhesive piece that you stick onto the back of your GPS or whatnot that you want to mount and then it clicks into to holder.  I don't want to have something stuck to my phone.  If I had a dedicated GPS, it might work.

very nice! now all I need to do is wire in an external battery unit. that way when I hit the links after work I don't drain my battery after 8 holes.

I like the Clicgear mount.  I just bought a cheep iphone case to put the adhesive piece on and I only use that case when I golf.

See...I did not think of that... since I've always gone caseless on all my phones it didn't even cross my mind.  I'll see how this one works and if I don't like it, can always go that route.  I'm sure I could reuse the RAM one some where else (bike or ?).

See...I did not think of that... since I've always gone caseless on all my phones it didn't even cross my mind.  I'll see how this one works and if I don't like it, can always go that route.  I'm sure I could reuse the RAM one some where else (bike or ?).

I just bought a case from Amazon for $2.56 for my samsung phone. Something that cheap will be used just for this mount. I guess I have to make due since I have the Clicgear mount already. Should work out fine tough.

OK, I'll admit, I was wrong on this one... the Clicgear mount seems to be the better option here... it was $15, and I got a case for my phone for $7-8 that I'll connect the Clicgear thing too... I hope to go give it a run, at least for 9 holes tomorrow! I have a cool idea to reuse the RAM mount to mount a camera to the front of my Jeep Bumper Winch guard to record my rock crawling! :-)

Does this ClicGear mount let you rotate the GPS at all once it's locked in? RIght now I have the other mount they made for the CLicGear (more like an angled flat platform with a hole) and it's so tight with my SkyCaddie SGXw that it won't let me rotate it once it's locked in. While I can still use the SkyCaddie, it allows you to acces the menus differently if you rotate it right or left to a landscape position so I'd like the GPS mount to allow it to rotate...

I walked 18 yesterday and had the opposite issue, my phone spun around all over as I was walking from hole to hole.  Wasn't a big deal, but there doesn't appear to be a way to "lock in" either horizontal or vertical position, but might be different with a heavier GPS unit vs. my phone.

I'm guessing you can't use your umbrella holder in conjunction with the GPS bracket.?.? That would suck as I use my umbrella all the time.

You actually can... I just tossed the packaging but it does mount to the umbrella holder screw mount spot, but if you want to use the umbrella holder it screws in and holds the GPS Mount.  It mentioned both the standard and adjustable umbrella mount.

I have an idea for you... go to the hardware store and buy a roll of that strip black insulation foam that you get for your door frames. Sticky on one side with foam on the other, you could tack a small strip to the bottom of the GPS mount. I'm guessing not only would that cushion your phone, but it might hold it more snug and at worst the foam would provide a little friction so it wouldn't slide so much. Don't know if that would work, but it might be a cheap experiment...

I have the Clicgear mount ( use with Skycaddie SG5) and love it.  I had a Ram mount (different one than this) and the button didn't clip in securely.  Going over rocky ground, my unit popped out and the screen cracked.  The clicgear has a little tab that has to be depressed to remove the unit, its very secure.  You'll definitely want something with positive locking.

I have a rubber/silcone case on my SG5, that has enough friction to keep unit from spinning.  I would think same could apply to a soft or rubber cell phone case.
