So Im here at the AT&T National on 6 green. Par 5. Group is on the green putting. Stadlers group behind. Stadler hits into them like 50 yds short of green while there putting. Walks ahead of his group. At soon at the group in front of him is walking of the green his putts up from like 50 yds of the green and isn't even close. Walks on the the green an just starts putting. 3 putts without caring or lining up and walks off the green. His playin partners still in the fairway. He storms off the green and walks right next to 7 where is is on the tee waiting to tee off. Problem was othe group was still teeing off. I understand your 11 over and packing it in but that's ridiculous. Everyone around is like what is he doing? By comparison his playing partner is Tom Gillis is 9 over and he isn't pitching a fit.

maybe he'd like my desk job, sitting in cubicle hell......now that warrants a meltdown. he doesn't realize the number of people who would die to be in his shoes - unsure of the entire circumstance but it seems like he should pay some respect to the other players/fans during a round, comes off like a whiny B sometimes - at least that's my 2 cents.

That's crazy. Are you sure it wasn't John Daly you saw? Both son and father Stadlers are hot heads, nothing new.

And if you're at the tournament right now?, what in the world are you doing posting on here?  And are you causing a distraction with your mobile phone?

So you're watching a tournament, while simultaniously have your head into your phone. How do you enjoy watching the tournament?

Yeah his partners had to wait to chip up bc he walking around the green like a moron hitting putts not caring. Also Kris Blanks behind him is +12 and his partner is +13 and they are grinding away. It was funny. Everyone in the gallery is like what is he doing? He was standing on the next tee box before his partners got on the green.

Sitting now in an air conditioned tent eating lunch. No distraction.

Even if you know your not going to make the cut, you can at least use the opportunity to work on the game...and be thankful that your out there and not haunting a cubicle somewhere.

Apparently, there was an all you can eat chicken and waffle buffet in the vicinity.
If you arrive late, the waffles get too chewy and all that's left is thigh meat.

Who'da thunk the guy was in shape to walk ahead of anyone?
Those haunches must've had a helluva workout.

I've been in his situation...sort of. I shot myself +9 through six holes of a Nationwide Qualifier once...instead if discrasing the game and embarrassing myself I realized 65 (which was what I needed to qualify) wasn't going to happen...so I hopped in a marshals cart and went home just before the back nine.  Of course I entered as an amateur, and didn't have sponsorship obligations, so perhaps my situation wasn't exactly the same...but the lesson to be learned here is that there is a place and time for everything...and bad attitudes are seldom welcome in the game of golf.

To Kevin's credit...we all go through this at times in life...I'm sure he will grow and learn from this obvious behavioral mistake.

You quit which is never called for especially mid round and Kevin Stadler has a long history of these 5 year old temper tantrums.  Just like his pop.

Doesn't sound like you made life more difficult for the rest of your group though.

But Yes. At the tender young age of 32, it can be hard to keep emotions in check.  Once Kevin Stadler is old enough to participate in Junior Golf, his coaches will help him with his game etiquette.  Poor kid probably didn't have a family member to mentor him and take him out to the golf course when he was growing up.

Lol, great replies in this thread. As for stadler, I am not ashamed to say if he walked up on the green like that I would have just hit my ball at him and see what happens.

Yeah it was crazy hot. Just got in. But it's no excuse. Like I said someone in his group was +9 and the group behind there was a +12 and +11 and many more high numbers. Not like he was the only one struggling but those guys were grinding away and playing till the end.

Yep, I'd be side betting with the other playing partner. "$50 says I can hit fatty in his arse"

I checked his scorecard.  He birdied the next two holes.  Not defending his actions, but apparently he got it back together after that hole.

Beg to differ....Stadler "quitting" probably would have saved him some class points had he just walked off...rather than acting like a child.  Hind sight is always 20/20...as the saying goes.  Maybe you don't agree with it but often times "walking away" or "quitting" the situation is the best option.  You save yourself and others around you the grief of being effected by your bad day and bad attitude.

Of course. If he keels over and dies. I will definitely want that joke back.
Wait, he finished alive and is only +5.
I'll double down on the buffet line.
I'm sure he will, too.
Edit: Oops. Sorry. I was looking at yesterdays score card.  Hmm. +9.
Well, he can keep the joke.  Maybe he can trade it for cab fare.

Meh, we all have bad days. I get that it's fun to hate on people and you guys are having fun piling it on but there are no spectators at your job ready to post on the Internet when you act like a fool when your computer crashes or you get in an argument with a co worker.
