Titleist recently revealed its prototype 913 drivers out on tour. These are only in the hands of pros as of yet, and GolfWRX had an exclusive first-hand look at the new D2 and D3 models. Chris McGinley, VP of Marketing for Titleist, joined us for an exclusive video talk of the highly-anticipated 913 models, which will be coming to retail in a few months. Enjoy your GolfWRX sneak peek.

As many Titleist Brand Ambassadors start their journey to the 2012 Fall Series, they’ll have a nice surprise waiting of for them on the range – new prototype Titleist 913 drivers.

And we’re excited to be bringing Team Titleist a sneak peek of what’s in store for this week.

Starting Monday morning, our Titleist Tour Reps will be in full force working closely with Titleist players in the field to check all of the build specs and SureFit Tour hosel settings to help players get dialed-in with the new prototype 913 drivers for testing.

This marks the official introduction of the new drivers on the PGA Tour and kicks off the tour seeding and performance validation process that all Titleist clubs go through prior to being released in the market.

The Titleist Golf Club R&D team will also be on-site to walk through some of the new technology and advancements that players will see in the prototype 913 drivers. They’ll also be taking note of the feedback from the player testing as this will influence the design and specifications of the final product that is made available to golf shops around the world.

In case you were wondering, “913” is the series designation for the new family of drivers. Titleist continues to release metals under the 900 number designation with the “9” standing for metals and the “13” indicating the new model year, 2013.

As the tour seeding and performance validation process continues in the coming weeks across the worldwide professional tours, we’ll continue to share more behind-the-scenes information and product details here on the Team Titleist.

In the meantime, check out the slideshow below for a first look at the new prototype Titleist 913 drivers as they were being built and packed for their trip to Washington D.C. (and a few player’s homes).

I love everything Titleist but the graphics on the face are too busy for me.

Greg, you are my hero.

Really glad to see pics of the crown. Interview with Chris McGinley confirmed what I expected. "Faster across a larger area of the face" sounds like more forgiveness. I'll be interested to see how they changed internal weighting to lower spin.

The changes in face and sole graphics are awkward for now, but we'll see if people warm up to them.

Ok so maybe it's not just a new paint job like all the haters say.  Still, time will tell.

It looks like the Sure-Fit Hosel is the same as the 910?  Maybe I missed it, but can anyone confirm?  If so, that's great news for those of use who already own premium shafts for 910s

Same.  Based on the video...shafts with a 910 tip will work in the 913.

Was looking forward to the 913 line, but the first thing I thought was it looks like a TM R9 Supertri. Also not digging all the business on the face, but if it's as good as they say it is I'll give it a whack.

Only based on aesthetics, the head and the head cover are a step down from the 910 IMO but to each his own. I do see the supertri in it now that someone brought that up, if it performs better then sure I'd buy one but I think there are other drivers on the market that looks a lot better. Looks aren't everything obviously but I play better with something that I like looking at, I'd imagine most golfers do.

It looks good enough, and retains the classic looks from address that I love about Titleist.  I'm more interested in the actual performance though, because the last time I checked, paint schemes and head covers don't add up to better golf.

It would also be nice if Titleist would include the weight kit, or at least make it more easily available than the kit for the 910 line.  I can't stand how they make adjustable drivers with replaceable weights, yet you can't easily get your hands on the two pieces that make them adjustable.

I love everything about this new 913 driver!   Graphics,  cool!!  Headcover,  very nice!   I was in love with the 910 D3 and held off to look at this one.   The 910 D3 was probably one of the easiest,  most forgiving driver I have hit.   I demoed the D3 and could not believe how much easier it was to hit vs. past Titleist models.
I just HOPE they did not change the D3 with the 913!
Great job,  Titleist and Gofwrx for bringing us this video and information,  well ahead of things!

Firstly, thanks for posting the pictures and the video. One of the main reasons i love GolfWRX!!!

Think the 913 looks good, not a drastic change from the 910 but a slight update. Seems to be the usual from Titleist, nothing too drastic just a minor overhaul. I think where we might see the biggest difference is the performance of the driver. I personally love my 910 D2, best driver i've owned however, like most on here, i'm intrigued to see how the 913 performs in comparison. When these are released i'll make a fitting appointment and try it out. If the performance is better than my 910 then i may have to part with my hard earned cash.

I love the buzz of a new golf club, especially from Titleist. Just love all their products! Callaway, Mizuno, TaylorMade etc are all good manufacturers but there's just something about Titleist and their products for me.

Thanks for posting!

I would also agree that i'm not crazy about the face markings...but nonetheless, that will probably be my next driver (if it is what they say it is).

Yeah, the Golf Wrx etching on face on crown are way too distracting. Deal breaker.

Great news that they didn't change the sure-fit system, There is going to be a flood of 910 D2 and D3 classifieds that are HEAD ONLY.

Looks alright, but i still plan on sticking with my 910... thank god!

Hopefully I'll still be able to hold off if Ping releases an adjustable. Can't wait for that

Good job Titleist.  You have essentially made the same driver since 1997.  Just bigger and bigger with new paint jobs.
