If you have to nominate 5 best Driver shafts ever, what would you list in the 5 best DRIVER shafts ever?

Maybe You get more distance or tighter dispersion with these shafts.  Or you really like the feel of this shaft.

Number 1 shaft ever has to be just a Dynamic Gold.  Whether you are talking about irons or woods, they are the proctor to which all others are compared.

Outside of that, I would say that Fujikura Speeder would be one.  I always liked the old Matrix shafts like Watson is still using.  Proforce would have to be widely considered as one.

You meant True Temper Dynamic Gold.  That should be in the Iron category.   This is for top 5 driver shafts.

BTW I played with DG for about 3 years.  I think they are better suited for long hitter.  They are heavy and feels a bit stout.

Of all time the best would have to be:

1) Speeder 757

4) Diamana Blue/White
5) Motore Speeder Series

Notable mentions to
GD YS series
GD DI Series

If you mean best or most innovative for the time in which they were introduced, rather than best all time (all of those are current or near-current issues), then here's my list, in order of introduction:

Dynamic Gold (yes, Virginia, they do make DG .335)
Fujikura Speeder 757
Innovative UFO 2.2
Aldila NV65 (I know, I know, but most people never tipped it enough...)
Matrix Ozik TP7x

Honorable mention to the Phoenixx RT40 and the Matrix Altus 2007 Proto - the two smoothest driver shafts ever....

Edited by Awalkspoiled, 24 June 2012 - 03:19 PM.

Taylormade 300 Tour Holy Grail/6Q3
Cally XHP 15/Altus
Cally XHP 18/23/ Saga/Altus hb
5-GW RBT/Program 95/130
Scratch D/D 54/Program 130
Bettinardi QB3

Dynamic Gold has been around an awful long time to discount it from any "best of" category for shafts.  Because it isn't huge now, doesn't mean it isn't one of the best, if not THE best, of all time.

im not familiar with the "oldies" (steel shafted drivers), and i did not range them by "best of its time", but as they where all options right now.

what?!  there is Rip Vs proto now??  so many RIP variations on the market right now.   Don't know how much they are different from one another.   For example: Rip alpha and Rip NV, both are low launching shaft.  The only difference is the weight.

To keep it fairly broad and not have to distinguish between the blue/whitboard,  all the Fuji's and NV's. I'd say...

1) TT Ei-70
2) Diamana series
3) Prolite 35
4) Speeder series
5) Proforce V2

Honorable mention is

1) Tour AD DI
2) Aldila NV
3) TT Dynamic Gold

All things considered look at the prorce v2.  Not a new shaft by any means and the price tag.  Yes there are better but thus is definitely the shaft of my choice.
