Replaced my Garmin S1 - nothing wrong with it just wanted some more golf info. Anyway, I've played twice with the Motoactv and it's works great. Same accuracy as the Garmin S1 but provides more info like hazards and such. Plus I like the idea of software updates down the road when available. Works fine on my wrist - I normally play with a watch so that's not an issue.

Does the golf edition have all the functionality of the standard edition as well? ie could I use it as a running gps?

Got one for Father's Day - returned it a couple of weeks later. It was accurate enough, when I could get it to work -- but it was WAY too complicated for me. I don't want to have to work that hard to find distance or keep score. Seems like Motorola decided to overload the thing with features - so for me it was just to much to digest. Maybe I'm just too old of a dog, but I ran out of patience with the thing when for some reason (I'm sure it's something I did, but not sure what) it went to a score-keeping only mode and I couldn't figure out how to get it to go back to GPS mode. I said **** it and went back to just playing golf.
To their credit, Golf Galaxy took it back no questions asked, and gave a full cash refund.

I'm liking mine although one of my golf course gps maps is old which I play. Since the maps are from Skydroid, I like the idea of being able to taylor the course layout to suit my needs. Yes, it has a lot of functions but it's not primarily a golf watch even though I use it as such.

Update on my Motoactv. Actually I returned it and bought another one - saved a 100 bucks by doing so. It still works great but the Skydroid site is a pain at times. People editing courses and putting their own crap on the maps so you have to go behind them and remove it. Plus I regularly play 7 area courses but because of duplications there's like 20 copies that I have to edit. I keep telling Skydroid about the copies but they haven't done anything about it. Still a great golf watch though for me.
