I have a striaght back straight through putting stroke and was told a face balanced putter is best for me. I tried looking at the web site but couldnt figure out if any of the studio select newport putters are face balanced or not. I prefer this style of putter to the mallet as I cant get as comfortable looking down at them. Thanks for the help.

TeI3 Del Mar Long Neck and regular neck is almost face balanced............. Red X is near face balanced...............really, anything with long neck

EDIT:  just noticed you don't like mallets...... there are a few older styles that are long necks that will work..... i'm not aware of any of the new styles

The Tei3 longneck and CLN long neck both were. My Newport Beach 2 CS proto had a slight toe hang which I corrected with lead tape. Yes, it's ugly, but it works for me.

Ok thanks for the help looks like long neck is the answer I'm looking for, so I guess nothing new fits the bill.

Scotty Cameron don't think you ought to be putting straight back and straight through. So he ain't about to enable your deviant behavior by building face-balanced putters. He'll make a few that are "almost" just to give the Scotty collectors one more option to add to the pile but those of us heretics who fail to drink the "Swinging Gate" Kool-Aid are best off looking elsewhere.

I am gaming a Scotty Pro Platinum with a flat lie angle. I am able to take it back and stroking through straight with the face still staying rather flat, which is the way I like. I recently got my hands on a Newport 2 as an extra putter to practice at home, but the face naturally wants to open on the backstroke and close on the forward stroke. Big difference.

Give the 10 year old Pro Platinum a try. It feels great!

Many recent releases are so close to face balanced, for all practical purposes they are. They include squareback 1, np 2.7, and fastback 1.

I have a Squareback 1 that I have face balanced by heating and giving the shaft a bit of a turn. I was trying to get away from the curve of a typical mallet.

If you want a perfectly balanced  OTR try the Pro Platinum Sonoma long slant.

In his newer putters the California Fastback is the closest thing to a face balanced putter that is made.

wonder if you can play with the weights to create more faced balanced putter.
just an idea, place 10g on the toe side and maybe 15 or 20 on the heal side.  Maybe not perfect, but maybe you can get there pretty close.
this will only work with putters with weight inserts...

what do you think?

Try an old Scotty Cameron Catalina!! Double bend shaft creates the face balance
