For those in the Southeastern, NC area, the local Ollie's Bargain Outlet store that just opened in Wilmington, NC has a limited number of new right handed Srixon Z-Star clubs for sale.  As of today, 5/26/2012, they had the following Srixons:


Z-Star forged iron sets 3-PW for $260+tax.  The shaft is the steel N.S. Pro 1050GH.  Probably had 4 sets of each flex - stiff or regular.  Set  comes in a Cleveland/Srixon box and each club head is covered in plastic.


Z-Star drivers, 10.5* with the graphite Miyazaki Dromos stiff flex shaft for $130.+tax.  Price included the head cover and tool kit.  Had maybe 4 drivers,

Z-Star 3 fairway wood with the Diamana stiff shaft for $80+tax.  Price included the head cover and tool kit.  Only had a couple of these.  FYI, Srixon's website only lists the Dromos shaft for the fairway wood, but for some reason these woods have a Diamana shaft in them.  

I was able to purchase the last 5 wood $80+tax, Diamana stiff flex, with head cover and tool kit.  Also purchased one of the iron sets as a for a back-up.  

Don't know if the Ollie's Bargain Outlet stores in other states or NC locations have these Srixons for sale.  Maybe it is just a new store promotion.

That's a STEAL on an AWESOME set of irons!

I just picked up a used set, 4-PW with Iomic Sticky 2.3 grips for a little MORE than that store is selling them brand new....and I THOUGHT I got a pretty solid deal!

I thought it was a pretty sweet deal on these irons.  I was lucky....in the right place at the right time.

I haven't hit these irons yet, so they still have the shrink wrap on the heads and grips.  Will take some pictures tomorrow and post them if they come out decent.  Later.

Trust me...you're going to LOVE them! I've got three rounds under my belt with mine and all I can say is that my PINGs will be on the BST soon!

Here are some pics of a Srixon Z-Star 6 iron. The comparison club is a Mizuno MX-23.  The Srixon still has the shrink wrap on it so there might be some reflection.  The Mizuno 6 iron is on the right when you cannot see the brand name.  FYI, the Srixon iron head is made in China, steel shaft made in Japan and then assembled in the USA, circa March 2012.

The Srixon website has the retail price at $899 for these irons. I was very fortunate to get these at such a discounted price considering they were only released last year.

Congratulations for the great buys.

In Australia, Srixon irons both [Z-Star and Z-TX] are also appearing at good prices at the discount stores. Of course, like all the other good stuff on discount, not available left handed

Maybe it's better in the USA but in Australia Srixon makes it really difficult for you to buy their clubs. Lots of shops used to sell them but hardly anybody does any more, something to do with the lack of representation. And yet, their balls appear in great variety in every retailer and pro-shop. Would have loved to give the Z-TX a try but didn't find anybody interested in selling them to me.

The appearance in the clearance stores has something to do with the merger with Cleveland a store owner told me. There are rumours, he said, that after the merger Srixon might phase out their club brand and focus on balls only.

There are also very good 588 wedge offers with a box of Z-Stars tossed in for each wedge [priced at AUD118 which is more or less the same in USD].

A little late to the party, and just ran across this older post.  However, I just called the Wilmington, N.C. store and verified they still had some in stock.  I'll compensate someone in that area $25 bucks if they are willing to pick up a set of these for me.  Of course, I will provide the funds for the purchase in advance.

Don't think I haven't tried.  Called 4 different stores and corporate hq.  Unfortunately, I was told at all locations that it was not possible.  They wouldn't even ship to another of their own stores (Atlantic City) where I have a buddy living.  Apparently they are not set up for online ordering or shipping.  Very strange way to do business in 2012. Bummer.

Yeah, that is strange.  This was a few years ago and they just took my card # and address and sent it on its way.  Not sure why you'd even need an Internet presence to do it.

Jackpot!  Thanks to Weaver93 and a trip to visit his folks on nearby Oak Island today, I am now the proud owner of a very cheap set of the Z-Stars.  He was so impressed, he bought a set himself.  I've never met him before but this fellow WRXer stepped up to the plate and did me a huge favor.  Kudos to Weaver93...you da man!  Thanks to the Op as well for spying this true deal.

Nice score! That is very strange that the store wouldn't sell 'em to you over the phone. Been to Wilmington once on a cross-country trip and had a blast out there. Maybe I should go back and pick up a set!

Noyes26: Funny thing is, I work under as a federal contractor and the contract is administered out of Atlantic City.  Having many acquaintances there, and then figuring out that Ollie's had a store there, I thought "Hey, this is gonna work".  That is till I called the ACY store and was told that they had nothing of the kind in their store.  I don't pretend to know how Ollie's does business, but rational thinking would lead one to believe that if a line or item is available in one store, it is surely available in all of them.  Not the case at all.  In fact, I called 3 or 4 additional stores where I could have had someone I know get these for me.  Of all the stores I called, only the Wilmington store had these irons in stock...and several sets of them.  Very strange indeed.

I count myself as one of the lucky ones.
