Zim, you might have said, "Thank you for your opinion, but I'm doing just fine."

There are a lot of people out there who are just awadds. It's not worth getting mad over. You can't control what they say, but you can control how you react. Don't give them the satisfaction of controlling you. Do a Jason Dufner...don't react at all. :-)

You just have to ignore people like that guy. I'm a little bigger than you (5"8) and hit the ball 280+. I've had people tell me that's impossible before and tell me similar things to what that guy said. People aren't going to always believe you. I'm taller than bud Cauley but he averages over 290 so think about that.

I go by you dont need to be big to hit a ball far, and you dont need to be big to play this sport well

Of course - but that's what WE short people HAVE TO SAY.   We don't have a choice.  But the rest of the world doesn't have to think that way.   It's up to US to prove it to them.    For we short guys (and when you get old you might get fat too) - it's definitely a "respect is earned, not given" type of experience.

If you're 5'5" and in high school - there's a super chance that you'll grow up to and through college.  Of course if you're already as tall or taller than your parents - you have no chance.  Just kidding.  :)

Take it from several short adults on this list - we've been you, and we are still you.    Your current trend will simply get you dismissed in the real world...nobody wants to be around a hothead or a "Louie DePalma" (a character played by Danny Devito in the old days).   And there will be MORE times than not, that a bad temper will get you excluded, rather than included.

I firmly believe that the guy at the range meant no disrespect to your Dad - so try not to get all bunged up about it.

Hang in there Zim.

Maybe you should have asked the guy if you could borrow his car so you could leave and not have to listen to the insults about how your dad hit the club he borrowed from the stranger?????

Maybe you should read the post he added half way through the thread so you would realize that his dad never asked to hit the club but was just looking for some feedback????

Maybe he should not say things in the orig. post if they are not true. I see it all the time. people say things and then when they are called on it, they change their story. Not that hard to get it right the first time.

Everyone knows the further south you go, the less meatheads and guidos there on the beach.
