So I've now heard from two people about an adjustable Ping driver coming out.  Who's got the inside scoop and who's got pictures?

Wow! This would be cool. I am very surprised though given their stance on custom fitting.

Funny because their engineers were just on here claiming they could not find a way to make an adjustable driver without sacrificing performance. They must have found some miracle solution.

The move wouldnt surprise me, I would be willing to bet they are losing market share by not havin this option.

Might be called the Anser driver.  Unclear whether it will be loft and lie adjustable.  Highly unlikely it will have adjustable weights as ping seems to dislike the idea of changing the designed CG of their drivers (have heard that from several ping employees reps and others)..While no specifics have been offered on any of their fall offerings the common theme has been this group of new products will "knock your socks off"....

I've heard the only thing "adjustable" will most likely be the shaft in the driver. Sounded like a cleaner (Less expensive) way to change shafts than in  the other OEMs products.

That's been done before, Callaway I-Mix. I believe PING will go all in meaning change shafts, lie, loft, etc or stay out completely.

I believe PING will use this technology:

http://www.puku.co.nz/golf/

It is superior engineering and PING is an engineering company. This will be the best technology in the market. PING is using adjustable belly putters first developed by PUKU golf. Taking a stab at it.

My rep has been mumbling about a full Anser line, with the Anser driver and fairway being adjustable. Driver/fwy will be open at stock setting and super traditional in appearance from what he understands, and will have some sort of lie and loft adjust ability similar to the Titleist surefit. Of course this is broken telephone word of mouth...

Please don't be a sheep Ping. Your clubs are great without gimmicks. My I20 driver is in my bag because it is a simple looking, glued in head. If I want to alter the playing characteristics I will hit the draw, tee it higher or lower. I don't need a ratchet or spanner to do it for me..

On the forged S56 replacement that could be a winner. I like the look of the 56s but not keen on the feel so a forged version could appeal to Mizzy, Titleist and TM forged users.

I just switched from a TMAG driver to the G20, PING adjustable driver would have to be pretty darn good to kick that out of the bag.

I've heard from a few people that they are bringing out a Anser line of woods with adjutable hosel, similar to the surefit hosel by Titleist. Heard there is a few prototype heads knocking about already.

Market forces indicate Ping has to come out with an adjustable driver.  Engineers always find a way to work out the kinks.  :D
I for one would definitely buy an adjustable Ping driver.  Heck their non adjusting drivers are fantastic.  An adjustable one would be just about perfect.  ;)

The only Non-PING clubs I have in my bag is my driver (R9 TP) and my 3 wood (R9 TP). Only reason why I am not upgrading is because I am not digging the white. Thinking of getting an i20 but I hope it's true that they are coming out with an adjustable driver. It's going in my bag for sure!!!:partytime2:

Johnstitch,

I think you are missing the purpose of driver shaft/loft/lie adjustability. It was developed as a quick and efficient method to properly fit golfers. Fitters brings 5+ different heads and 25+ different shafts, all of which can be combined to create the perfect club. After finding the right shaft and head combo, fitters can then fine tune the loft/lie/etc. OEMs then decided to sell that technology to the masses.

Sure there are some that use driver adjustability as a "bandage" to correct a swing flaw, but IMO it is no difference then being fitted around one's swing flaw (i.e. draw bias club to correct a slice swing).

I'm sure if you asked those with adjustable drivers, I bet few have ever made any changes after proper tuning.

The adjustability of drivers is definitely more of a fitting help i agree. I dont play my drivers at 46 or 47 inches so when i have them cut to my length it throws swingweight off. With my 910 i changed the head screweight. I also like to play my woods flat. And i like being able to swap out shafts in 30sec on my own at home.  I cant do any of this with my G20 unless i send it back to pingwrx which ive done and ive been waiting for 3 weeks to get my club.  Ping is behind the curve on this one and their argument that they cant figure out how to make it work is kind of a headscratcher considering they are "engineers".

We are not talking about correcting a slice.  And i was properly fit but they didnt have a 44.5 shaft.  Changing out shafts is a big one for me. If you dont tinker then you prolly dont understand

Puku who I mention above had this first. That is one of the reasons I believe they may be working with them on their adjustable hosel technology as well.

I've got a set of I20 irons/hybreds that I love, but use the Callaway Razr Fit adjustable driver and 3 metal.  I'm a bit unsure about the I20 driver, since it is not adjustable, but if it was, I'd probably make a quick trade.
