My buddies and I have had a long running debate....I need some help with the answer..


Jason Dufner dips chew on the course, does he chew pouches?

From what I've heard he dips Copenhagen fine cut, which are not available in pouches. Hope that helps.

Jason Dufner is my boy!!!!!!!!! I love this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im a big dipper, and so is J Duf. I was at the matchplay and J Duf was right in front of me when he cracked his can of COPENHAGEN SNUFF and through in a FATTY LIPPER, I love it when I can relate to a PGA tour pro. He also does a pretty cool move when he is packing a lip, he pinches it and then flicks his wrist to get off all of the straggily parts. When he did that it was a perfect size dip. When I saw him do that, I was in heaven haha. He only throws in on the course right before or right after he gets on the tee box and only keeps it in until he gets to the green then he throws out. I garauntee he does this because if he spit on the green dip would be outlawed from the Tour. But he only dips Copenhagen Snuff (the silver can).You probably think Im crazy for this response but I am J Duf's biggest fan! hahaha

I bet that one of his caddy's main jobs is to make sure that he always has a fresh can ready.  It would be a fire-able offense if he got to the 16th tee and there was no Snuff!  It would be hillarious though to see a WITB and see a log of Cope in the section where they usually show a ball marker.

Two years ago, I would have called J Duf the ultimate badass for chewing Snuff.  However, now that: A) I had to decide between allowing those white/back pre-cancerous cells on my gums to keep growing or to stop chewing (I chose the latter) and B) I am now a health teacher, all I'll say is: Gentleman, make sure your brush your teeth, srubbing your tonge and gums extra hard, ALOT.  Don't end up like those dudes in the pictures that I show my health class to scare them.  No girl is gonna think its sexy if you have a hole in your lip.

Had to buy myself a Sonicare haha but my plan is to quit on December 22,2012. That way if the world ends I enjoyed the days or dipping and still died. But if the world doesnt end I will quit hhaha.

I dipped Cope and chewed Red Man for 10 years but gave it up because of a cancer scare, similar to nfinch 10. I loved it but am glad I was able to quit. Don't miss that "Copenhagen smile", either!

I believe Boo Weekly has been known to partake in a cheek bulge as well.

I quit an 18 year 2 can copenhagen snuff per day habit cold turkey on my birthday 6 years ago. I got tired of all that dead skin in my mouth every morning. Oh and yes it is DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! I still get the urge for a fat pinch while playing golf, hunting, or drinking a tall bourbon on the rocks. Damn im feigning a pinch right now!!!!!!!!!!!!

absolute worst legal habit ever created, and unfortunately it's only when someone has oral, esophageal and/or pancreatic cancer, heart and/or gum disease, and oral lesions among other wonderful things, does the taste and ritual obsession become a little less attractive, not to mention cups, cans, and random hocks of dip juice everywhere.  Sorry, I get why people get into it, and usually it starts in college, but please do yourself a favor and give it up or at least cut back.

its normally long before college ive been dipping on and off since freshman year of high school... its so easy to get its stupid. then again i go to a all boys catholic high school and its completely normal to pack a lip an class and teachers not care at all

I've been dipping for over 30 years.  It's a nasty, disgusting habit, with no real redeaming qualities, that makes some people judge you pretty quickly.  I need to quit, have tried to quit, but it has an incredible grip on me.  

If you have never dipped, don't try it.  If you're young, do what you can to stop.  The longer you do it, the harder it becomes.

My next attempt to quit will be June 1st.  I hope I'm successful.

Started dipping during high school baseball and did through college. Quit my Junior year in college. Now I just chew sunflower seeds when I get the "Urge"!!!!

I'd echo the advice of others.  Don't start, it's incredibly difficult to quit.
Actually, it's easy to quit, I've done it dozens of times myself.
It was Cope at one time, has been Red Man for many years now.

I am at the "Still dipping and would like to quit" stage.    FC Copenhagen user since 1994.  Have quit at least eight times since then, several times for long term, but it is a strong pull on a long road trip, or as somebody else said hunting, fishing, playing golf or with a nice bit of bourbon on ice.

when I was 6 I asked my uncle what he was doing...he said "having a chew.... you want some!?"
I said sure!
he gave me a small pinch, put it in my lip and I literally chewed it
still remember to this day how disgusting it was and how long after I puked for

only now I get why he did this.....
Still havent had a dip to this day, and probably never will (im now 32 yrs old)

I've been dipping for 12 years now. Started with Kodiak Ice, went through a Skoal Spearmint and Apple phase, and now I chew Grizzly Straight Pouches. I find the pouches to be more convenient and less of a mess.

Like many others, I've tried to quit and after a while you miss the feeling and taste of a nice pinch and give in. Dipping is a love/hate relationship.

I chewed for about (a small amount) one and a half years and I got a big lump in my lip (still there) from chewing about seven years ago and pretty much quit instantly. I'm already an alcoholic so I surely can do without that other vice.


Dufner will die early from cancer like his dad as well if he keeps it up. Mark my words. Lose the weight. Love that pretty girl you got. Make some kids and have fun. That stuff ain't no good. Quit now.

I think it's gross but I do understand how incredibly difficult it has to be to quit. Both my parents are huge smokers and that alone has kept me away from any type of tobacco. I absolutely can't stand cigarette smoke or any other type of tobacco now and in a weird, unfortunate way, I have my parents to "thank" for that.

After 18 years with my parents and 5 on my own tobacco breath still grosses me out.

You should try the swedish snuff it's more potent than the swett stuff you have in the states. I tested skoal and copenhagen and think it's to dry and hard to keep under your lip whitout pouring into the stomach. I think the swedish brand General is available in some states, it's a little bit easier to form to a bit that sticks under the lip and don't give you stomach pains. I also think it has a stronger taste of tobacco. Btw the swedish governement had to take away the warning signs of cancer on the buckets cause it is not scientifically proven to cause cancer.
However don't start using is a good tip...

not bashing anybody in this thread but real dippers don't use pouches...Copenhagen long cut for me but I like the snuff also

Couldn't agree more haha and you chew red man you dip Copenhagen skoal ect. Being a dipper it's a pet peeve of mine when someone ask me for a chew haha I dip I don't chew. Rant over.
