im gonna buy 2 pairs, white and black. i remember when i bought some oakley's, the most absoulute horrible pair of golf shoes ever and they were $200! i kid u not my feet are not the same. i know for sure nike fits great and they are well made and guaranteed, not to mention so cushy well engineered, i would hope my icons are made as well. i do not care if it says TW on it, i want it because all it is  is a nike lunar running shoe with spikes.Posted Image

I will beg to differ with you on Oakley's golf shoes, I love them,

I'm quite torn on these. I have a pair of the free running sneakers and absolutely love them. Most comfortable running shoe I've ever worn and really got rid of my shin splint problem. That being said, I picked them up at a Nike outlet for under 40 so really not sure if I'd ever drop 180 for the same shoe with some spikes drilled into the bottom...
While not probable, I hope they come out in a non TW version with a lower price point.

I'll just wear my Free 5.0 to play. They feel great and have pretty good traction.

Wow, they really are the ugliest and most overpriced golf shoes ever.

While that may be true, they are rated #1 for booting your 9 iron.........

It seems as if Tiger has had to change shoes in the middle of a round at least twice since wearing these shoes.  I can't ever recall seeing another player ever have to do that while playing golf, my guess is these are "wear for one season" and throw in the garbage shoes..

+1 Every other brand on the market just got a huge boost with this release.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Tiger had to change shoes in the middle of a round at least twice because he tore one of his shoes.  The price is ridiculous for a pair of shoes that is prone to tearing.

I think it was because one of the eyelets broke.

the upper, and specifically the eyelets, are significantly different on Tiger's shoe than they are on the release to market shoe.

I don't really get all the hate- it's a good concept and the shoes look great. If you don't want to spend $180 then don't buy them- but plenty of other people will, which is why they can charge $180. People are pre-ordering these things: they're going to sell like hot cakes. I'm sure Nike has all the kinks worked out and people will have no problems with these shoes. Remember- it's Nike and when it comes to footwear they are superior to pretty much every other brand. They know what they're doing. I myself prefer the more traditional looking golf shoes(I wear the Nike Zoom TW 2010's BUT have had several pairs of FootJoys) but if these are as comfortable as they look, I would consider buying them.

Some people just love to trash Nike for no apparent reason.

Don't really understand complaints about pricing, $180 seems in line with market - True linkswear shoes are $150, the Ecco casual shoes are $180.  Oh yeah, and this guy Tiger Woods wears them, so, there's that.  This is the Tiger Nike premium golf  brand, just like his polo's, really only difference is it has the little TW emblem yet they are twice as much as a regular Nike polo.    You really think Nike is going to bring out a Tiger branded shoe for comparable price to Lunar Ascend's?  Sure they may end up in clearance at some point next year, but no reason for Nike to have a new release shoe with Tiger on it without premium pricing.  I mean, when was the last time you remember a pre-order for golf shoes?

Actually truelinkswear came out with a new line at $99 and I hear they are selling quite well

Right, and True Linkswear also have a line that sells for $149.  Nike is doing the same thing, they have Lunar Ascends for $99, TW shoes are more.

I ordered a pair.  Everyone is hating on these shoes because of TW.  If these were PM or RM there would be no issue with the price.  All shoes companies have lower priced shoes.  I think that it is so funny that there is a comment that someone will not buy these because they are to expensive and they will go and buy adidas 3.0 360 for $180.  Some people are such idiots.

haha what?

Adidas Crossflex and Puremotion are coming out this summer with a $99.99 and $119.99 price point, respectively. Not to mention the current price of the Adicross. Nike's main competitor for the 'athletic' golf shoe.

Then there were the reports during the PGA Merchandise show that claimed it will not exceed $149.99.

It's really a simple argument. Unless they're arguing this as part of there premium golf shoe line; Nike missed the mark on this one. There's no reason for it to be priced at $179.99 other than the TW marketing.

Since i havnt seen these shoes in person i cant really comment on how great they are, and like alot of people are doing not sure how you can say how terrible they are either, but i wear nothing but Nike golf shoes and tennis shoes. That being said i want the black pair badly but there are two problems. 1st they only make them up to 12 and i need a 13, and 2nd no chance in hell i pay $179 for these or any pair of golf shoes. I'll stick my $99 Nike Air Range and Air Rate, perfect for the dry Vegas weather.

I'm suprised... I love the shoes. I'll get them on ebay in a few months for $100, but I'm looking forward to getting something that looks different. I've never been a fan of the TW line but these are a go for me...
