The Fujikura Tour Rep just tweeted these photos

I shot photos of this club back at the Las Vegas Open (last year?) when it was really raw & Ernie Els was testing it.  Looks like it made the grade.

Intersting....I agree a little late though, especially with advancements in technology.  But would love to see some numbers.  Thanks

Looks kind of Browning 880ish from the 90s...  I wonder where these are supposed to fall with high lofted fairway woods and hybrids.  Almost as unappealing looking as the old driving iron Daiwa had years ago that was labeled a 0 or 1 iron.  Looked nothing like the beautiful forgings in the set but man did it work...

Is this similarly designed to the 1-off custome hybrid that Phil designed and occasionally plays?

Looks like Phil could use it as a driving iron and putt with it.  Maybe he'll go back to 2 drivers with this ;-)

Kind of reminds me of the old PRGR. At least the head shape.

This is getting ridiculous. If companies aren't coming up with ridiculous names like RBZ, they are slapping ugly neon paint on their products. What a shame.

I don't really see a place in the market for this.  I understand creating a new niche with this product considering what is out there right now, but I can't imagine there are any groundbreaking technological advances in driving irons.  I just don't think the numbers can stay as consistent as hybrids (for the average golfer).  We'll have to wait and see.  It looks good though.

I bet if TM came out with this, painted it white and claimed 50+ yard gains people would be oogling over it and how cool it is.  Man lots of hating going on around here on anything Callaway does.

Its a driving iron, it looks pretty good......

With all the interest in the Titleist 503 driving irons that seem to be popping up in players bags out on Tour and the high price they bring on e bay, I'm not surprise that Callaway has jumped (back?) in on the renewed interest.

I also think the Fourteen Driving irons and Yonex Zero's are along the same principles and school of thought. Not for everyone but for those that hate hybrids bulky heads, this is between them and long irons.

Maxfli,  get that again folks Maxfli  made a very similiar product and it was called a driving iron.  BACK in the 1980's. It was a hook machine. I used to put one in my bag for this one hole that I played on a certain course.   That was it.

Nothing new in golf.

I like the idea.  Hybrids aren't for everyone, and their use can result in higher ball flights.  Perhaps the positioning of the weight closer to the face and the overall cg make this a lower flying option.  However, it does look like their is a lot of weight positioned pretty low, so maybe it does fly high.  I'm curious.

Not sure I like the looks of this driving iron.

The one they released (in 2006?) was better looking.

+1.
The green things and the badge aren't too attractive. Although, I don't mind the concept of a driving iron.  It might suit my eye better than a hybrid, standing over it.

It looks like a good direct long iron replacement and prolly would give you better distance gaps between your regular 5 iron and your long irons if you don't want hybrids

I actually really like the idea of mass releasing a driving iron. I can't tell you how many people I have fit for clubs that say they just can't hit hybrids. Most of these players are actually mid - high cap players that can't hit long irons either. Hybrids just don't work for a lot of golfers out there and there are even more players who just wont move to a hybrid. A driving iron is at least easier to hit than a traditional 3-4-5 iron for these players.

On a personal note, I've tinkered with an old tzoid driving iron for awhile now and I love it on tight courses and longer par 3's. I would prob be a buyer on this if it performed decently.

I'm going to go ahead and be that guy.
It probably has some laser welded face on it, that has driver technology built in....
Kinda like the RBZ 3, 4 and 5 Iron...
Driving Iron that flies like a driver...

About 8 or 9 years ago, people frowned upon the hybrid....If you didnt have a 2 or 3 iron in the bag, you werent a man...
Now these are making their way back....
Man up, LOL

I'm interested to see it.  I love my Mizuno MP Fli Hi, always been more a fan of iron style hybrids, I find them easier to work.  Also interesting with an interchangeable weight!

looks very similar to my bridgestone airmuscle #2 and #3.....

i consider these as "pure" driving irons and only use them with a tee or a very good lie....very effective on tight fairways and windy conditions..
