I think they were breaking when people installed them improperly.  I put one in my driver and it was fine.  Even pulled it again, trimmed the tip a little more and put it back in and it was money still.  I think with the way the paint was, people were buffing the tip too much and going into the graphite.  I just lightly abraded the paint coat and epoxied it in.  No issue with mine

Im definately thinking about picking one of these up for my 909d2, but ive heard they break quite easily. Has anyone had an epic break on their driver?

Yeah I read that people was sanding off the shinny metal layer and shaft would break easily. It's in the instruction that came with the shaft to stop sanding once you see the shinny layer.

I ordered a couple of white driver shaft and hybrid shaft.. should be kind cool to go with my R11 driver. Already have a silver FW one..

do you think i could trust golf galaxy to do this for me if i tell them to sand it lightly. they must have experience with the epic since its been pretty popular.

Yeah should hopefully be alright, maybe mention it too them not to sand too much away, just rough it up a bit.  Only swung the javln once or twice in a net.  Felt nice and smooth but can't really comment on real life playability

GG installed an Epic in a driver for em and it lasted two rounds before the shaft snapped. Ask them if they have installed an epic shaft before especially the younger guys

There also could be a issue with clamping the shaft to tightly. This is one of those shafts that is very fragile and when clamped to tightly can cause a failure.

For the people questioning how to install, I have installed a fairway and a driver epic with great results. All you have to do is use a utility knife to scrape off the paint on the tip just like a regular a regular graphite shaft, then do some light sanding to the metal to make it rough enough for the epoxy to adhere. The people that had them break were sanding off way to much of the metal. Also the epic fairway was the longest lasting shaft I have had, no problems with the structural integrity, if anything I think these shafts are stronger than most shafts I have used, I have never heard of anybody breaking an aftermarket shaft in a vice.

My white epic came in today and it is the tour 90 model. Here are some pics, the white is a pearl white, and all of the other graphics are standard epic colors

Looks pretty sick!  I ordered the white driver shaft to put in my 910F (only the driver versions had the .335 tip).  Hopefully its the tour 75 or something.  Would've preferred the heavier T90 but hopefully this one works.  Anyone know off hand how much to tip it to put into a 910F 15* with the sure-fit tip?

Mine should arrive tomorrow. I am not too pleased that these are 90 grams. Yeah, i know, my fault for not looking closely but i went off the ebay listing that listed the 335 White Stiff Driver shaft as being 71-73g and the grafalloy website that doesn't even list these. I may have to go ROBO on this one and build a 10.5 9015D with this thing playing at 44.5 inches or something so i am not killing myself with this thing.

If anyone who ordered a .335 Stiff or X 46" driver shaft happens to get one one in the 70g range and wants to swap if either of mine are 90g let me know. I got a white S and an Orange X.

RBG has these shafts (.350 and .355) driver, fw, and hybrid in several different colors right now for $19.53..supposedly the color is just that, no different specs.

Are the driver shafts all for sure the T90 too?  or was that just the fairways?

well if you look in the item description on their website it says the 350 driver shafts are 71-73 gram but all .335 are 90. I first looked on their ebay store and they listed the same driver shaft as being 71. (positive it was 335, everything the same) then I checked graf's website and they make no mention of the Epic driver shaft even being available at 90g so I gambled that the ebay listing was right and the website description was wrong. But based on RBgolf's pics and description, i was wrong.  Posted Image

Whatever, Maybe Ik will gamble and throw the White Stiff in my Yonex 3i 5 wood. Watch it be 350! Grrrrr!

Yeah it could be the grafalloy site didn't have them because these may be the tour versions which I think only come in either T75 or T90.  I think the T75 is around 84 grams if I remember correctly.  I have that in my superquad a few years back in an x flex tipped an extra .5" in it still wasn't super stiff (my ss is around 108).  It felt super smooth though and loved it.  Would've preferred a little less spin for a driver, but really like the heavier shaft...should be money in a 3W I hope!

I have a G15 4 wood that I would like to try one of these in.  The stock shaft is a Serrano and I think the weight is a 70.  Could I use one of the .350 driver shafts since the weight would be closer than the fairway shaft in 90 grams?  I dont want to change the weight that dramatically.  Any installation tips would be appreciated.

Not sure there isn't any mention of a lighter version trimming on their website guide
