I bought a pair of oakleys off of ebay and I think they might be fake. I was reading online and it said that if there was a seam on the top of the glasses they are fake which these did. Also, the writing that said oakley doesn't look right. There is an o on the top right corner of a lense and I saw oakley doesn't put stickers on their glasses. The seller says they are real because they say made in the usa. I have already sent them back for a full refund but I want to know if I was wrong. Can post pics later if needed.

I dont see any markings on the inside of the ear stems.  Maybe the watermark is blocking it but all oakleys have writing and product codes on the inside of the ear stems.  Also I've never seen the Oakley "O" on the lenses like that.....

The watermark is blocking it. There's a mark that says oakley made in the usa on one and a four didgit number on the other.

I've never seen the O on the lense as well.....hard to tell from your pics but probably a good call to send them back.  Better safe than sorry.

That's what I thought. Better to be out $2 than $75.

I wouldn't consider buying Oakley's off the internet. Oakley sunglasses have to be one of the most faked products of all time. It's just too risky.

Definitely fake. Those are the Oil Drum correct?

We carried these in my store for a while, and a couple observations here:

The real Oil Drum doesn't say Oakley across the front.
Oakley has never put their logo on the lens as far as I know.
The cloth is definitely fake.
I've never seen that case before either.

Is oakley and the model name on the inside of the ear stems actually a molded part of the plastic. All my oakleys (fuel cell, hijinx, oil rig, split jacket) have it molded/imprinted into the plastic it is not painted on. If that isn't there then they are fake

It is painted on and there is no model.

Those are fake as hell.  First of all, that o in the corner is a dead giveaway, as is the fake case.  With a product like Oakley, I would be incredibly cautious and probably just spend the extra cash and buy from oakley.

I have a prescription flak jacket and my lenses do have an o logo etched on it. It's smaller and in the bottom corner however

This. My prescription Oakleys have the "O" logo etched in the bottom corner of one of the lenses as well. I have never seen the printed "O" on a lens though.

Those look kinda like the ones the boys sell on the side of the road here for $5-8. Like has been said they do not normally have a white O on the lense.

I cannot find that model on the Oakley website either. Perhaps its an old model? They look like some hybrid of current models. Oil Rig arms, but that model has a one piece lense. Having said that Oakley churn them out

I have been wearing Oakleys for more years than I care to admit, and  have never seen them put anything on the lenses.  There is one  exception.  They relased a special edition line to raise funds for the  Infinite Hero Project (supports law enforcement, emts, firefighters,  military) and these glasses all have black frames, purple trim and  lenses, and a small frosted cross in the lower left corner of left  lens.  Thats it.  You made the right call by sending them back.

Those my friend, are foakleys.

Oakley does do custom etchings on the lense, they also have a line of MLB glasses that have some logos on the lense but that looks like a sticker and not etched, those seem to be fakies
