They said the entire area around the path was destroyed and would have made for a horrible lie. With the exception of wearing spikes he couldn't have had any more perfect of a setup.

Speaking of American players, the latest Ryder Cup standings reveal that nine of the top ten (only Keegan Bradley) have won this year, with Zach Johnson zooming to 13th.
I think our Ryder Cup team is looking very good right now.

Love the smile ... great to see a player genuinely seem to enjoy playing his sport (which seems to be getting rarer by the day). He was overjoyed to win, and it was almost contagious ... the gallery seemed to be overjoyed to see him win. And I totally dug his two little boys sprinting out to him as soon as the last putt dropped ... and waving to the crowd.
I'd love to see him in the winner's circle more often ... (and he just might be ... he's got an odd backswing - but it really seems to be gelling.)

What a month for Curtis: 1st in Texas, 15th in NOLA, 5th in Charlotte and 2nd today. In four weeks, he has climbed from nowhere to 10th on the money list and 17th in the FedEx. He fell back to 6-under at one point on the front nine , then turned on the jets. Cool, smooth player who can finish. I would have liked his chances in a playoff had Kooch stumbled on 18.
I just have to give some credit where it's due. Very classy guy who is one of the most well-liked players on the Tour.

Good to see because Ben had gotten the one-hit wonder rep for winning The Open. He has been on a blinder during the last month. Kuchar and Ricky also are having a great 2012. Martin Laird also getting some deserved attention.

Martin Laird is so under the radar that he radar he's under needs another radar to find.
Had a huge 2011 with almost zero fanfare, and so far this year it looks like he'll at least do just as well.

Okay I'm not blasting Rickie here and I'm a fan...
But Rickie has had a great TWO WEEKS. The beginning of this year has not been anything to write home about, if we remember. Having said that...It's painfully obvious that he's recently found something in his wedge play and putting. He's hitting his short irons crisply and confidently, which is what you want. and his putting was exceptional this week.

Agreed. I like Rickie too. A great deal, and the rest of his Golf Boys buddies, but he's been inconsistent thus far. He's finally found his iron game, that was on display in college, and he's just pounding the driver, long and accurately. But his putting has been stellar. He's draining the putts from everywhere, unfortunately no so much when he absolutely needed it yesterday. I definately hope he can keep it up. Fear the 'Stache!

Well, both bowles and I were downplaying the "great 2012" by RF, so we were kind of with you on that one.
but I'll throw you a bone...Ben has made 5 out of 7 cuts and never placed outside the top25 in those 5 events with 3 top10s
atta boy!

There were zero bogey-free rounds on Sunday. Tough course indeed.
Can you guess what the record is for fewest bogeys in a PLAYERS Championship? Answer coming up.
One bogey-free round at Sawgrass is a pretty nice feat, I would imagine. And I'm sure very few guys have had two bogey-free rounds in one PLAYERS Championship. Can you imagine a guy having three? He would have to be playing some special golf.
OK, the all-time record for fewest bogeys in one PLAYERS, for four rounds is........1.
Greg Norman, 1994. That was the year Greg won with a score of 264, 24 under par. He beat Fuzzy Zoeller by four strokes.

1. You will hear almost no club chatter when a caddy is carrying the clubs. Its like they take personal pride as a caddy on the clubs not making a sound.
2. While sitting next to a green (cant remember which hole) I could hear Phil's iron shot make contact with ball\turf. It was rather impressive because the wind was up there was a big crowd and he was over 150 yards out. It had a very deep powerful sound. Tigers sound was close but Phil's was more pronounced.
3. Many college age guys saying they are going to yell "Get in the Hole!!!" but only do it on the par 5 tee boxes.
4. Pace of play is already well documented

Man, just imagine the Open, the US Open, heck maybe the PGA will even be compelling but that's probably asking to much.
