[Golfing Sauzee]

Hi all

First post here so be gentle.

Just looking for some opinions on KZG custom fitting. I've always had Mizuno (MP32's currently) and was looking to get a set of JPX 800 Pro at my local shop, using Swing DNA I guess.

However just joined a new club and they have a fitter who does KZG. Whole experience sounds really interesting but dont really know much about quality of the clubs.
Was single figures but been away from the game for a while so looking for something forgiving. Prob get 10/11 on my new HC (1 card to go).

Any thoughts?

KZG components are generally well-regarded.  KZG management takes a lot of hits (if that matters to you).  The key will be the fitting process.  Re-sale value, if a consideration, will likely be very disappointing.

Plan to have them for a long time, but noted. It's the fitting experience that's leaning me their way. My man is apparently in the top 10 fitters in Europe.

Think he also does Miura. Any preference?

It depends on the fitter, there are some truly excellent ones and some not so great ones. Product wise they make some really solid stuff though

KZG is not a component company!!!  It's a proline company.  Big difference

What I've heard of KZG's is that they make quality stuff. We all know that Mizzy's are also top notch! However, my dream set are Miura's. Just wish I could afford to get them without ending up in divorce court!!  Just get fitted and get what is best for you and not what we think is best for you!

I played 2 sets of KZG (Forged Evolutions & ZO Blades) before switching to my current gamers (MP63). From my experience the KZG's were top notch clubs. No complaints here. Comparable to Mizuno in feel. I'd say you can't go wrong either way!

In Dallas if you can find a custom fitter with a KZG account, the customer picks the heads, shafts and grips with the assistance of the fitter who will build the clubs.  Heads, shafts and grips are all components in my mind.

Had a look at the Evo II heads, very nice. Hopefully try a swing in a week or two.

Either way don't think I'll mention the price to my good lady whichever I choose. If Westwood wins The Players I'm quarter way there though!

Huge fan of both... Personally gamed Evolution Tours with Steelfiber 110cw's great feel and flight... If your looking for one of the best lower launching heads on the planet I would stongly suggest the Evolution Tours...
Mizuno JPX800 pro's are also pretty sick ball flight will probably be a little higher.. Narrow sole with camber on the JPX800 pro's makes it extremly playable...


Think about what your looking for in terms of playabilty then consider ball flight characteristic's that's what I usually suggest...

I've played with my set of Forged Cav I since 2000; with NO chrome loss.  Granted the range / courses I usually play at aren't sand based, but the longevity of these are unreal.

The blade profile is longer than most, but the topline was very appealing, almost on par with MaxFli Evo black dots.  

Had a set of ZOs and didn't really like the profile, so I'm getting a set of baby blades for my casual rounds.

Have had blades made by Hogan and Mizzies (MP37, 67) and none of them are around anymore.  

Can't go wrong with KZG forgings; they aren't Wilson FG59 soft, but they're damn close.
