GolfWRX Congratulates Rickie and Cobra Golf!!!

Rickie Fowler won his first PGA Tour event in a playoff over Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points at the Wells Fargo Championship at the Quail Hollow Club.

Rickie had four impressive rounds hitting bombs off the tee. His total average driving distance was 305.9 yards for the tournament and hit almost 80% of the greens in regulation, ranking him at number one for total driving for the tournament. After a 5 under 67 on Saturday, Rickie charged during his final round, putting up 6 birdies to get into a playoff with Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points.

Here is a detailed WITB (What's in the Bag) for Rickie Fowler...

Cobra AMP Driver, 8.5* Neutral with a Mitsubishi White Board 73X shaft
Ping i20 3 wood, new Mitsubishi proto
Cobra AMP Pro Prototype Irons, 4-9 with Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts
Vokey Wedges (working on Trusty Rusty- In development)
Scotty Cameron GoLo Putter

Rickie wore his signature orange for the final round in a Golf Duo Swing Mesh Polo, 5 PKT Tech Pants, Super Cell Fusion Ice shoes and Monoline 210 Cap. His signature style is both edgy and functional. The Golf Duo Swing Graphic Polo features COOLMAX® All Season to keep him comfortable when the temperature changes and has UPF 50+ for ultimate protection against UV Rays. His Super Cell Fusion Ice shoes feature PUMA's newest S2Quill technology

Here is a great video Rickie had with GolfWRX reporter Greg Moore earlier this year about his new equipment & relationship with Cobra Golf.

I think Ricky meeting ROBOPTI is what allowed him his first tour win.  More people should let ROBOPTI do WITB.

Great win for Ricky and for the USA!  We needed a "young gun" to compete with the European talent that has been taking the world rankings by storm!  Maybe Rory and Ricky will be the next Tiger and Phil? Time will tell.....sick shot he hit into 18!  Question is, will he lose the stache?

Awesome for Ricky and Cobra!
Hey, does anyone know if Ricky is still playing a hybrid in his bag? No mention of if, but I see three headcovers for his Amp driver and Ping i20 3 wood. Whats under the other headcover???

It's a limited edition shaft from Mitsubishi called Diamana X, only 5.000 were produced retail. If you look at the specs, looks like the holly child of ahina and ka'ili, spin and launch like ahina and feel and torque like ka'ili. The only place i found info was the facebook fan page, and yes, this shaft came in XX flex on retail. Posted Image

Congrats RF!  I wonder where all of the haters are at now who said he would never win on tour.  This is the first of many more to come!

Congrats to Rickie and great win for him.  I wonder if he'll put a Cobra Amp 3 wood into play or is the Ping i20 firmly in the bag???

Rickie still had his i20 three wood today at The Players with the same shaft. Watched him hit it on hole 4 at Sawgrass which is a 390 yard par 4. Pulled it a bit but he still smoked it.

Adding my congrats to Ricky!  The protos do look super!  I had better not demo them when they come out just in case I can't resist replacing my new S3 Pros, which have worked magic for my swing.   Speaking of looks, I just wish Cobra would rethink their new bags.  I can't get into the lemon, orange, grey, or pinstripes.  No offense to folks who happen to like the color schemes.  Maybe Cobra will do a classic bag line for the more conservative blokes like me.
