Thrilhouse, best video game of all time?
Even here in sun baked America most of my friends agree the answer is NHL '95 for Sega Genesis, but I wonder if our more hockey aware neighbors to the north also love the game?

call of duty 4! I was awesome at that game, had the gold cross and everything. NHL 95 was a banner year for the NHL franchise for sure.

Negative, NHL 94 was the best.

My question for you is...

Which episode was better: Homer at the bat or Lisa on ice? and why?

Lisa on ice was great for the following:

"great game Bart! Because you won I'm going to uphold my end of the bargain, heres your turtle, alive and well"

"the winner will be showered with praise! The loser will be taunted and bood until my throat is sore!"

Homer at bat was a better episode though, absolutely classic. From wonderbat, to ken Griffey jr's giant head, Steve sax in prison, mr burns wanting to recruit players from the 1920's, and Darryl strawberry crying after being heckled. But what really made that episode was mattinglys sideburns.

"Mattingly! Shave those sideburns!"

Thrillhouse:

Sometimes while playing golf, random people will yell things at my ball while it's in the air.  Stuff like "Bite!" or "Come back!" or even "No!  Not the Water!" while I stand there with a bemused look.

This is a two-part question:  Do they really think my ball will listen to thier pleas?  How can I get them to stop treating my ball like it's thier dog?

Good answer. I agree fully!

To add to the Lisa on Ice: "Children, that was our only ball. There will be no team this year"

Homer at the Bat was one of the top 2 episodes of all time for me. Along with the Hank Scorpio ep.

Two great episodes... Homer at the Bat is clearly superior, but has a lot more effort put into it... Lisa on Ice is classic in it's simplicity.

If you had the ability to perfectly mimic one phrase from a movie/TV show what would you go with? <BR>My thoughts:<BR> "Alright, Alright, Alright"<BR> "So I've got that going for me, which is nice"<BR> "Khan!!" <BR><BR>Editted to add: how could I forget?? The president's speech from the end of Independence Day... just to be annoying.

yes they think your ball will listen, no they dont know whether it needs to sit or go, and the way to stop it is to walk up to them, kick em in the gonads, and yell KEEP YOUR LIPS OFF MY BALL!

that way nobody will ever play with you again thus solving the problem of people talking to your ball.

This is enlightening because up to this point I was blaming Tiger Woods.

Do you start when he calls the kid a shleprock?  More importantly, do you actually smile when you say your smile is ear to ear?

Fun story, true story... Steve Miller went to my high school... he was sleeping in class one day, my teacher threw a piece of chalk at him and said "Wake up, Space Cowboy"... I was not there, as I'm nowhere near Steve Miller in age... but that's the story according to legend.

He eventually got kicked out... legend says it was for riding a Harley through campus while smoking a joint.

How much of this is true... I know not.

Ha... the answer to the question is both.

The Steve Miller who once sang "Some people call me a space cowboy" was in fact called a space cowboy by a math teacher at my high school... Mr Owens. Who also taught me math... and was awesome.

This will provide important insight to your Canadian-ness.

Labatt or Molson?
Whose moustache was better?  Lanny McDonald (1990) or Sid Crosby (2009)?
Gretzky or Lemieux?

molson, it has catchy commercials and tons of alcohol in it. IT'LL GET YOU DRUNK! here are thrillhouses favourite canadian beers:

1) steam whistle
2) sleemans
3) big rock
4) kokanee
5) molson canadian

lanny mcdonald has the greatest moustache of all time.

im gonna go with gretzky because hes polish and im polish and you gotta represent. plus lemieux is french and you dont want to give jeff more reason to gloat. in all honesty though, lemieux had the smoothest hands ive ever seen, and he had no one to play with on those penguin teams in the 80's when the scoring was going crazy and he still had 199 points one year. gretzky was putting up 200 plus points with messier and kurri and coffey and anderson with him. lemieux had more injuries, back problems and a bout with cancer that shortened his career. if lemieux had the help gretzky had in the 80's and had the type of injury record gretzky had lemieux might have put up 3000 points and be regarded as the greatest ever.

Man, I've never felt an urge to answer a question like I feel for #2 but it wouldn't be funny, and plus not my thread.

Someone should come up with a stocks/commodity question.  I would but I burnt mine on a stupid golf one -.-

I had forgotten about Kokanee.  In college we would drink whatever was cheapest, dreamed about Molson which never met our criteria, sometimes drank Labatt but usually stuck with domestics.
Personally, I found Sid's moustache a great effort and subsequently one of my favorite playoff beard/ moustache's.  In reality effort does not make greatness and I concur with your assessment completely.
I had season tickets in the late 80s early 90s and got to watch Lemieux regularly.  He was, as you point out, the greatest individual player I have ever seen.  Even with his injuries he was putting up points at a rate only Gretzky could match.  On the other hand, I can't disagree with your assessment that when your (Gretzky) assist total is greater than the overall point total of the #2 scorer in history then it is tough to argue any other way.

IMO, excellent choices with solid reasoning.

1. its to protect me when i mistake it for chocolate and eat it off the floor.
2. that would break the space/time continuum, on the plus side if i did that stephen hawkings office would return my calls and we could finally perfect the swag factor.

IMO, excellent choices with solid reasoning.

its so weird to think of blue or canadian as not being domestic. its so common up here, rednecks ween their babies with it!

Avengers was good.

Iron Man being off the table... who do you become from that list? Captain America, Hulk, Thor or Hawkeye... Thor seems like the best choice, with the whole demigod thing, but Asgard doesn't seem to have golf courses.

Also, who do you think would be the best golfer among them? Hawkeye probably has the best hand eye coordination.
