the 3 best Simpsons episodes IMO are:

3) The halloween special where they go to Ape Island (if only for my alltime favorite simpsons quote:
-I hear we're going to ape island?
-yeah to capture a giant ape
-I sure wish we were going to Candy apple island
-Candy apple island? What do they have there?
-Apes....but they're not so big

2) 22 short stories about springfield (the dialogue between Skinner and Chalmers about steamed hams is still absolutely brilliant)

1) The Globex corp Hank Scorpio episode. I just love Scorpio and model myself as a boss after him.

Chalmers: Whats going on in your kitchen?
Skinner: uhhh, aurora borealis?
Chalmers: AURORA BOREALIS! AT THIS TIME OF YEAR! IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY! COMPLETELY LIMITED TO THE CONFINES OF YOUR KITCHEN!
Skinner: uhhhhh, yes?
Chalmers: (pause) can I see it?
Skinner: (pause) no

Chalmers: For steamed hams?
Skinner: Yes
Chalmers: And you call them steamed hams despite the fact that they are obviously grilled?

sorry i don't even care i'm totally going to continue threadjacking this thing. But we have "spicy ketchup" now too, which makes ketchup chips just seem terrible by comparison.

Thrillhouse, what is the most realistic movie about time travel, and why?

Does Teleportation count? Because The Fly from 1986 with a young (and dashing if I do say so myself) Jeff Goldblum is probably the most realistic dialogue of what would happen if you put yourself in a machine that broke up and reorganized all the molecules that make you up.

Until a week ago I would have said back to the future because the whole thing makes so much sense, you know? But then I was invited into an old mans delorean and lets just say that he wasn't looking to travel through time.

I feel like 13 going on 30 probably got the process right. I mean, didn't we all want to fit in with the "6 chicks" in junior high school? They were so popular. Anyway, sprinkling magic dust on a dollhouse makes way more sense than this science stuff other movies try to push, and I like the idea that 13 year old thrillhouse would look at a 30 year old rich successful thrillhouse with a distant boyfriend and a job at a fashion magazine and say "your life is empty dude", so I would go back in time to find true love and wind up married to a man who would listen to me talk about what colour I want to paint the wall in the laundry room that NOBODY WILL EVER FREAKING SEE!

Rainbow suspends, pretty cool way of keeping up your pants?

What's your favorite simpson's episode?

I got all tingly and excited when I saw that you posted, I knew it was going to be good!

My favourite episode is Bart After Dark. Its the episode where there is a burlesque house in springfield that bart winds up working in and hilarity ensues. Here are a few of my favourite quotes from that episode (Belle is the proprietor of the burlesque house):

Kent Brockman: Kent Brockman at the Action News desk. A massive tanker has run aground on the central coastline, spilling millions of gallons of oil on Baby Seal Beach.
Lisa: [gasps] Oh, no!
Homer: It'll be okay, honey. There's lots more oil where that came from.
-------------------------------------------------

Homer: Aw, I don't know how to punish you. What does Marge usually do?
Bart: She makes me taste beer.
-----------------------------------------------------------

[When Grampa visits the Maison Derrière]
Grampa: [whistles & hangs his hat; sees Bart] Oop. [whistles again, turns around, picks up his hat and leaves; sticking his head in] Is your name "Bart"?
Bart: [nodding] Mm-hmm.
Grampa: What the... Does your father know you're working here?
Bart: It was his idea.
Grampa: In that case, I'll have a whiskey sour.

--------------------------------------------------------

[Principal Skinner visits the Maison Derrière]
Principal Skinner: Oh, I hope I didn't miss the floor show.
Bart: Nope.
Principal Skinner: Is Roxanne back?
Bart: Yep.
Principal Skinner: Did she, uh, get my flowers?
Bart: She did.
Principal Skinner: [notices Bart] Hello, Bart.
Bart: Hello, Principal Skinner.
Principal Skinner: This is the National Air and Space Museum, isn't it?
----------------------------------------------------------

[When Homer answers the door]
Homer: Awww. This isn't about religion, is it?
Reverend Lovejoy: Everything is about religion, Homer. Except this. Your son has been working in a burlesque house.
Helen Lovejoy: Principal Skinner saw him with his own eyes.
(Principal Skinner appears from behind Reverend Lovejoy.)
Principal Skinner: That's true, but I was only in there to get directions on how to get away from there.
----------------------------------------------------------

Homer: If Homer Simpson wants his 10-year old son to work in a burlesque house, then Homer Simpson's ten year old son is going to work in a burlesque house. (Marge appears and Homer screams) Uhhhh, hi Marge, listen, you're going to hear a lot of crazy talk about Bart working in a burlesque house.

The grocery sack being used as pants breaking and Homer saying "i still get to punish you" (or something similar) is awesome...

I also use the phrase "Cat in the furnace" in my daily life.

Great episode.

Hank Scorpio is also a great episode...

Canada is more of an idea than a country, its like a mixture of snow, maple syrup, beer with high alcohol content, people apologizing to each other, and one road that goes the whole way across.

And we like the French, they give us uninhibited women and poutine.

1. Because if you go far enough north its light all day long during the month of summer, and the rest of the year its dark 24 hours a day and you have to worry about getting eaten by wolves every time you leave the house to buy milk.

2. Our government mandates creative potato chip offerings as culturally significant, its the same law that gave us anne of green gables on CBC.

Do you and MTLjeff ever spend any time curling?

True story, I was curling with my gym class in high school at the Calgary Winter Club and the LA Kings showed up. They were in town for a game and were learning to curl as some sort of team building thing or something. I got to meet Rob Blake and Luc Robitaille, it was awesome!

Other than that I hate curling, its really cold in there, its really boring, and they don't let you drink while you do it. Its a national treasure though, I made fun of it once at my old job when the brier was on and all these people freaked out at me, they were like "I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! I GET TICKETS TO THE BRIER EVERY YEAR AND ITS AWESOME! I CAN'T WAIT TILL WORK IS DONE SO I CAN GO SEE KEVIN MARTIN'S RINK TAKE ON RANDY FERBY'S RINK!".

TOTALLY!

Unfortunately, that was the end of the JCVD epic movies.  After that movie, the story goes that he was talking to some movie exec who wanted to give him a 3 flick deal worth millions.  He was drunk and told the guy he wanted more and wanted to get paid what Jim Carrey was making.  The exec hung up and he's never been the same.

LOL! That was awesome, I was gonna come up with a retort to that but I saw yours and thought "I can't say anything, Jeff just absolutely murdered the timecop bit, anything im gonna say is gonna suck".

OK, sticking with movies. Let's say you were forced to become any 1 character from any movie. You got to become him literally from the second the movie ended , then you would live his life starting from the end of the movie onwards and inherit everything good/bad that happened to him during the movie.

so who you going with here?

Like, without the consequences of the sequels? Because I really want to be Gordon Bombay at the end of the the first Mightly Ducks movie when he is going away to work back towards the NHL which will surely happen because he has now finally merged the pressure of Coach Reilly telling him he could have been one of the greats with the support of Hans telling him that he really loved to play. Plus Charlie's mom is SMOKIN and it is implied that that relationship will continue.

The problem is that at the beginning of the second movie coach Bombay blows out his knee in a minor league game and his career is over, so if I have to blow my knee out before I get back to the NHL and things don't work out with Charlie's mom then I have to pick another movie because I don't want that.

since you would become him, yes any sequels after the movie you're referring are not in play.

My answer is Nicholas Cage at the end of National Treasure. He's a multi millionaire, has a smoking hot Diane Kruger as his girlfriend (who is also a brainiac history buff in that movie, i mean hot and smart?), plus he's famous for making one of the most significant discoveries of modern times. Which means he's famous with smart people, and not idiots.

I dare someone to beat Nicholas Cage at the end of that movie!

haha, Mighty Ducks....classic. BTW who steals a kid mid-season from his current team. a KID...not cool Bombay. You shoulda left the star player where he was. You don't win like that
