I couldn't do it. I recently had some Ping wedges and the 52 was fine but I did t like the feel of the 60. They have to match for me. So I got rid of both of them.

there is no right answer, I used to carry all matching wedges, now I have a mix up of different scratch wedges that match my scratch irons, while I was still getting into scratch wedges I was playing TEE irons and vokey wedges so I've been 100% matching, and 100% random a few months apart for each other. I like my scratch wedges now but I didn't think it was that big of deal to carry two scratch and one vokey, obviously the feel is different but they were still my clubs and I could still hit the shots I need to. Try some out, buy one before you buy the whole set, you might end up with 3 that match, you might end up with a callaway gap a cobra sand and a mizuno lob wedge, you'll never know until you try.

As for pros, most of them have contracts, every OEM is different but ping players are going to have ping wedges in there bag, its not uncommon to see a TM or a Cobra guy to have vokeys in his bag next to his scotty cameron, just like use everyone is different but some of them have a financial interest in the wedges they're playing

I carry a Solus 51, an Eidelon 54 and a Scratch 58.  When I"m in a slump I switch to my matching set of Wilson Tw9's in black finish.  Doesn't seem to make much difference to me....

Scoring clubs. If you find one keep it. I have 4 wedges this year. All Ping, PW and UW are I15s. SW is Anser. Lob is Eye2. PW and UW were Ping last year, SW was Vokey and LW was Eye2. They really don't have to match unless it suits you personally.

PW= Callaway AW= Taylor Made SW= Titleist LW= Cleveland  It took lots of trial, error, demos and purchases/sales to get to that mix.

Mizuno MP-R 56* and Mizuno MP-T 60*  It's not a huge difference but I like them that way.

I took me a while to find the right gap (52-56-60). Now as to what make, it's an ongoing process.

First preference is to match -- but when I don't, it's the 60 that doesn't match - I think your highest lofted wedge should be versatile and work for you.

My woods have to match and my wedges have to match. Right now a cg14 52/58 combo however if I switch to vokeys I'll have an all titleist bag except for my odyssey white hot tour #9.

I do, currently.  60* Scratch LW and 54* Vokey.  I ordered my 53* Scratch SW bent upright and it, along with its sharp leading edge, just weren't working for me at my home course.

If your wedges don't match your set, you could be throwing strokes away.

I carry Scratch 1018 50 or 53, 56 and 60. But before I went Scratch route, I carried a Cleveland 588 51, Cleveland TA 900 56 low bounce and Nike first release 60 raw. I'm sure I could use any of the aforement
ioned in combo today and feel just as confident in my short game. I.e., it's what works for you and that's all that matters.

I don`t think anything "has to match" I play some Eye2 wedges that are 30yrs. old or I may switch a few out for some MD`s....It all depends what the wedge does for you...The key is if you find each one that does a particular thing for you consistently it should be a keeper no matter what...I do like to have my iron shafts match but when I switch wedges they rarely do....

Cleveland CG15 51.12
Mizuno MP-R12 56.10
Cleveland CG15 60.08
Mizuno MP-R12 64.07

I have every other wedge go from Cleveland to mizuno. The mizuno ones have less bounce where I can lob more, the Cleveland ones have more bounce for bump and run and full shots

Yes, but I think some would rather force a matching set ...

PW -  MP 57 (set)
GW -  Vokey 200 series
SW -  Cleveland CG12 dsg
LW -  MP T11

Will maybe begin working more Mizunos in as I just took my last new CG12 out of the plastic and wouldn't mind a different GW although the current vokey is the first one I've ever liked.   Some variation of a 56* Cleveland has been my $ club for a long time and a CG12 dsg has  been in there since they came out.  I have always had at least two brands of wedges and never had a problem with it.  Being a lefty means fewer options from every company so finding loft/bounce/grind combos takes a little more work and usually more than one company.

Match or not, I think the key is to know what you are expecting to do with each wedge and hence its reason for being in your bag.

When you find something, stick with it.

Having said that, I prefer the same shaft throughout the wedges and definitely the same grip setup.

Grip and shaft are more important than the heads.  Why?  With wedges... it is all about feel.  If you go from one degree to another (i.e. 53 to 58 to 60) and they all "feel" the same than I don't think the manufacturer matters much.

One thing I found is that if you have an oil can finish on one... you should probably have it on all of them.  I tried a 'mixed' set where one did and one didn't and it just didn't look right when I was looking down.

Besides the fact that .. usually... when you are looking down at the ball most wedges appear the same.

I am all vokey but  they aren't all the same.. I game a 46* and a 50* vokey 200 series... I didnt opt for the spin milled as there are more full swing clubs and aren't used green side (with the exception of doing some bump and runs)... I then game a 54* and 58* vokey spin milled

I dont think they have to match, i think you just have to understand the feel and action of each club.  So long as you are comfortable and confident in each shot and you know what to expect.. you should be good to go

I don't think there is any need for them to match, especially because so often we have very different needs from our different wedges. I have a much different sole grind on my 56* versus my 50*, and therefore they are different brands. Likewise, I tend to replace my 56* far more often than any other club in my bag due to face wear, and that means it isn't going to match my other wedges. If wedges were used mostly for full shots from the fairway/rough, like other irons, then it might be important for them to match so that trajectory, spin, and distance were consistent. However, because these clubs are more often than not used for specialty shots around the green, it is OK to have full shot properties that don't match up perfectly if that is beneficial for other shot types
