Nike made their Sumo drivers in a "Lucky 13*" and "Sweet 16*" loft.  They can probably be had very cheap.

Get the 12* 910D2 and then raise the loft.  You can only get to 13.5*, but at least youll have a nice club.

What about using an RBZ or XTD 3 wood as a driver?

This. The 919THI comes in a 15.5 degree loft and they'll handpick within plus/minus 1 degree for loft, lie and face angle.

get a 910D2, you can adjust it from 13.5 down to 10.5.  if youre looking for a loft that high, I'm guessing youre a beginner, so choose a driver to grow with.  you can change loft and even shafts as you progress

Get a Ping G20 12* driver... with how Ping understate their "stamped" lofts, you'll probaply end up with a driver that's closer to or over 14* (lol!)

P.S.- Also, on their site, Ping states it launches almost a full degree (don't remember the exact measured "decimal" number) higher than the G15, so add that to the equation!.

I must have been living on the moon, as I have never heard of a driver with such a high loft. Surely it would be unplayable for everyone except for those who hit sharply down on the ball with the driver?

if your swing speed is under 80mph, a 15 degrees driver loft should be a good place to start for your fitting.

I'll add to the Ping responses.  Pretty much any Ping at 12* will be digital lofted at 13 or more.

I may be wrong here, but just about any OEM club will measure higher than its printed loft.  So suggesting a 12* since it will measure at 13+ seems to defeat the purpose, unless the OP knows for a fact that he NEEDS that exact loft.  Otherwise, I would say its safe to assume that he is talking about printed or stated loft.

I doubt that if he asked for a 12* driver, people would be suggesting a G20 10.5*.

Just to address some previous comments about swing speed and hitting down on the ball - not always true.

I am a low single digit hcdp, swing speed is around 110. Impact on my drives is usually between flat and 1-2* up. I switch between a 10.5* RazrHawk with a fubuki and an 11* i15 with a fubuki. Spin rates are still pretty decent.

Some people just need more loft.

Actually, nothing,  except the shaft flex.  Heads are heads for the most part, with few exceptions.

As others have stated about just getting a 3 wood....that's not exactly the same thing as a lofted driver.  The driver shaft is longer and the heads can be 460 and thus larger and more forgiving from the tee.

ie - a 16* 3 wood is not a 4 wood.  The shaft of my 3 wood is longer and the head a tad larger then the shaft/head on a 16* 4 wood.  It is a slightly different beast.

davlin, I have used high loft drivers for about 12 years now.  Frequently called Thrivers (driver length shaft with 3 wood loft) I used these with great efffectiveness.  I had a very low ball flight and played drivers from Hireko, Bang, and Integra all 13 to 14 degrees.  I also had a Burner 07 HT which was about 13.5.  I hit by far the longest drives of my life during the time I used these drivers.  I had a penetrating draw trajectory and lots of roll.  I changed my swing to get better accuracy and consistency a couple years ago and started balooning drivers.  Nnow I am back down to 10.5 to 11 drivers as my angle of attack has flattened and my swing shortened.  For refrence I use R shafts and my SS is around 92.  I recommend getting a component head and matching it up with your favorite shaft,  Take a look at stores like hirekogolf, golf-components, Wishongolf, and golfworks.  I own clubs purchased from all of these dealers and they are all great.  Take a look at these web sites and I am sure you'll find several you like.  Hope this helps.
