So I am currently looking for new employment and have an interview for a position as a freight broker agent. I have done inside and retail sales in a few industries from golf to durable medical equipment. I understand that i will be starting from scratch and responsible for building my book the of business and I am ok with that. Anyone here in this industry that could give some advice or what to expect? Any insight would be appreciated.

Can really add much, other than my brother in law works for ABF, and runs a hub for them. Seems pretty hectic, and pretty cut throat!

It would be in the sales side. Finding companies that ship freight and earning their business.

Most companies you come across will already be attached to a forwarder: such as DHL, DB Schenker, Kuenhe+Nagel, of course the intergrators Fed Ex and UPS
You at least want them to give you a bone to get your foot in the door.
