Anyone have any dealings with this guy?  I purchased a 910 sure-fit sleeve with ferrule from him that he said was in new condition.  The ferrule was completely melted and the collar at the bottom was gone.  The sleeve itself was almost to the bare metal from the heating when they pulled it.  I sent an email about the condition of the ferrule staing that it wasn't usable.  He replied saying ferrules cost $0.50 woyuld you like tme to refund you $1.00.

I replied that it was actually a collared ferrule and closer to $3.00.  I told him the primary reason I purchased from him was that he stated the condition as new and I felt the ad was misleading.  I also stated that if his solution was to refund me $1 then we had an issue.

He replied asking me to ship it back for a refund and was notifying Ebay of a cancelled transaction.  My time limit to replay was running out for the cancellation and according to Ebay you shouldn't agree to cancel until you receive a refund.  I informed Ebay I had not received a refund and according to them I declined the cancellation,.

I sent the seller an email with the tracking info today and he replied that since I denied the cancellation he assumed I wanted the item and he would refuse delivery.

I sent a reply back stating that I would be monitoring the tracking and if he refuses it I will be filing a paypal dispute.  What do you guys think?  Am I in the wrong here in any way?  I don't mean to be a PITA but his ad was misleading and it seems he is not at all interested in coming to a reasonable solution, which is suprising considering his feedback.

Here is the ad:

Upon closer inspection you can make out the deformation of the ferrule in his picture but note his listing say the ferrule is unblemished.

Definitely not new, so it is all on him.  Fortunately for you, the bay is extremely buyer-friendly and you will likely be refunded.  Good Luck!

Well, it's all word games really.

New is kind of off about the tip. It was installed, and he did say it was a pull. The pictures do show that it was heated and the paint came off. The ferrule looks like crap in that photo anyways. I wouldn't have bought it without ordering a new ferrule anyways.

That said.. The guy is being a ****** about it. I've bought from that guy atleast 3 times and never had an issue personally.

File a claim, and get it done with.

Your going to spend as much in stamps as the product is worth.  IMO a waste of time.

Judging from his replies, I probably world r just gone ahead and started the dispute before sending it back. Just sounds like a recipe for trouble with the guys responses. Surprised someone with that feedback would handle a transaction that way.  From the description to the issues afterwards.

That being said, I'm not sure why you'd buy that expecting it to be brand new. Im not an expert on these tips, but the pics don't make it look "brand new" to me. He should have been more clear, and you probably should have realized He should be. Guess his idea of brand new means it came off an unused driver, not that it never was on a shaft.

Either way, you have a legit gripe, IMO.

I bought a brand new tip already and have two new ferrules so no worries.   At this point it is all about principal.   As far as wording he states the ferrule is unblemished in his listing.

The sleeve honestly looks worse than pics but really wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.  The problems were with his customer service and I screwed up assuming it was a new ferrule.

Update :
Once I opened the dispute the seller never responded.   Ebay sided with me and issued a refund and the package containing the sleeve was delivered back to me Saturday!   Now this guy is out the money and his sleeve.  Normally i would feel guilty but this jerk refused it and wasted my money on shipping and will not return messages.  I ordered two new ferrules so I now have a spare sleeve and new ferrule waiting for my next experiment ...
