Love the pro-v1x balls, but don't like the price tag nor the durability of them.  I want to compare them to other balls in the same spin/feel category.   I will list the major ball brands and if someone could tell me which model or models are compareable or is meant to compete with Pro V1X, please reply:

I too don't care for the durability issues that ProV1x have.  I have moved to the Callaway Hex Black.   I find the ball to play very similar to the ProV1x, with better durability.  I have found some decent deals on Ebay,  3 doz for $99 is pretty easy to find.

The Tour XV is one of the better balls I've ever tried, and I'm a long-time ProV1x user. I was chipping and putting with them side-by-side and are very close. If anything, the XV might be a little "clickier" on pitches. I might have to go get a dozen on Lostgolfballs.com to test them out, but I haven't run out of my albeit limited supply of ProV1x.

I've been playing the Srixon XV which is a great durable ball that is a lot like the Pro V1X. I've also been trying the Hex Black but nowhere near the durability of the XV. I haven't see so many cuts on a ball in a long time. Don't know where they even came from but I'm thinking from blades of grass. lol.

Can't comment about Maxfli.... but Wilson Staff FG Tours are somewhat similar... albeit "softer" feeling.

Is the XV more clicky on putts too?

www.budgetgolf.com has Hex Black's for $29.97/dz right now.  I think it's a weekend thing only so it might be the last night to get them for that price.  $10 to ship, so get more to spread out the cost.

I agree that they are slightly more clicky on pitches and chips.  However, I don't think they are more clicky off the putter, but feel is always somewhat subjective.

I played the XVs for the last year or so and just tried the new SL this weekend.  For me, Srixon XV = ProV1x.  Srixon SL = ProV1

Srixon durability >>>>> ProV1 durability
