Fit is number 1.

But all these are important.

My list goes like this.

- Oh, ok. I like the fit of this more than the rest of these. But I really need a blue or purple shirt right now..
- Sweet theres a purple one!
- But whats this gonna cost? Alright that aint too bad. I can swing that.
- Feels nice on the skin too.
- Alright, checkout time.

I want it to stretch so I can swing in it comfortably and it won't come untucked.  Other than that fit, design, fabric, cost, and I don't care who its endorsed by.

I voted cost but went it comes down to it, do i have the color already, how does it feel and how does it fit.  All I wear is golf type shirts.  I think I have over a 100 shirts but tend to wear the same 10 to 15 for some reason.  I guess that goes back to size, color and feel.  For me it just depend on how I'm feeling at the time.

Wow, thought I would be in the minority to say fit. No doubt for me its material and fit.

My eyes go straight to the price tag. It's a rare occasion when looks/fit outweigh cost for me personally.

When it comes to material I just can't get into the very light, breathable, shiny fabic that most golf polos are made from. No matter the functionality, when it comes to polos, I'm either a straight cotton or pique.

I'm actually pumped to see "fit" is leading the poll!

For me it is all about the fit, if the color/price/fabric is unbeatable but the shirt is too loose/not tapered, sleeves are too long, body is too long, arm holes are too low, that is a deal breaker for me.  I'd rather be limited to certain brands of shirts than look sloppy.  Same for shorts and pants.

Remember when this was in fashion?
I just tossed a cutter & Buck tech shirt (great quality) because the sleeves were too long.

#1 Design ("I could wear this")
#2 Fit ("great it fits")
# Material ("well allright, we got a winner")

+1 the breathable fabrics in white, no matter the brand are practically see through. Not something you want some hairy chested golfer sporting on a hot day.

I like shirts with thicker fabric, something that won't be all tight and accentuate my moobs.
I think it is important for the young cart girls to have some imagination of what I would look like without a shirt on, rather than them being able to read the braille on my nipples.

For me, when I'm looking to buy a golf shirt, I look at the Design to see if it even catches my eye. Then I check to see the Fabric, to ensure its a good quality fabric that is breathable. Then I try the Fit to see if it suits me and then I look at the Cost to see if it's justified.

1 - Design
2 - Fabric
3 - Fit
4 - Cost

If all 4 don't check out, I won't buy it.

First thing I look at is price, there's tons of cool stuff I like but if it's like $30 + I'm not gonna buy it most likely. Then I go with style, which I think style/material kind of go hand in hand with fit IMO

Fit and design are tied for the lead going into 18 but fit is a few yards longer in the fairway while design is in the first cut, still in good position though.

I want it to look good but I won't wear a really great shirt if it's an XXX-L.  I am a very skinny guy so I hate buying clothes because everything seems to be getting larger and larger.  I have trouble finding things that fit well.  If a polo is just say pure black but fits really nice and doesn't have the gangster sleeves, I suppose I am more apt to wear that than the Rickie Fowler polo that is too loose.

How can you guys tell if something is going to fit well or not?

- Prior experience with the brand?
- Visually holding it up?
- Trying it on?

I'm motivated by design first and then I try everything on, but I'm just wondering how the "fit-first" people are able to make their selections...

always try it on. if i am unable to try it on, i will not buy it.

as much as i love my wife...when she brings home a new piece of clothing for me, if i don't like the fit it goes back.

I always go for design and brand, but in combination with this sign.

Of course itīs also important that will fit me, so I never buy clothing on internet.
First try, then buy.

Fit and fabric out of the available options.

Obviously it has to fit but not be restrictive. And the material needs to have substance but also breath effortlessly.
