I have been living in Tampa for 6 years now and don't have any solid players to tee it up with.  Live in the north Tampa area and generally play TPC, Innisbrook, or Southern Hills Plantation.  Any solid players looking for a game?

Do you get a discount at those places? Rack rate on all of them is close to 100.

I live just outside north of Tampa (near Dade City) but work in NJ.  So I play on Weekends (Saturdays usually).  Next weekend in town will be the 12th of May.  So could hook up that weekend if desired.  I'm a high single digit player (super senior as well) if that is what you call solid.  Mid-upper 70s to low 80s usually.

Why don't you get a World Woods card and play there?  Ton cheaper than the ones mentioned.  Also right near you is Fox Hollow which is at least as good as TPC, if not better.  Certainly tougher and cheaper unless member at TPC.  Are you a member at Southern Hills? Or do you use the EXEC card to play there?   My problem with Southern Hills has been the pace of play (never played less than 5 hours there which is amazing considering it's private.)

Please bear with me for a minute.  But you stated you play Southern Hills.  It's quicker to World Woods than it is to Southern Hills especially using the Suncoast.  Or am I missing something?  Also, why 60 minutes.  From North Tampa area (I'm assuming Lutz area or Carrollwood area),  it should only take less than 45 minutes.  I've gone from World Woods to Citrus Park mall in less than 45 min many times.

So why not Fox Hollow?  It should be pretty close and easy to get to.  And it's a pretty good course.  And for lessor courses, you've always got Heritage Harbor,  Plantation Palms, Westchase, The Bayou club close in.

Im really not a huge fan of fox hollow or those other....  Southern Hills is closer to Tampa than World Woods is.  I play TPC because my time is limited due to work and family and TPC is literally 5 minutes away.

Southern Hills is my favorite close by and if you can get onto Old Memorial it is also a beautiful course!

If you want solid players, Fox Hollow is probably the place.  Big Skins game on Fridays & it's not unusual to have a few mini-tour players in the bunch & occasionally some PGA Tour guys.  I can think of at least 8 or 10  guys who are members or regular players there, with + handicaps.

I play out of Fox Hollow ... although I've been so busy, I haven't been to my house in Florida in almost 2 months ... of course, I made a hole in one the last time I was there, so maybe the break is good, my golf wasn't going to get any better after that round :)
