Does anyone know where I can buy the translucent pink paint like scotty offers from their custom shop? Testors doesn't seem to make one and I have failed at finding it on google.

Thanks for your help as always guys!!

Most people here swear by Tamiya paints and they have a transluscent line. I'd check their website to see if they have the shade you're looking for

Cameron uses Delta Creamcoat paint, not sure which pink but you should be able to search around and find the color similar to his pink.

Tamiya clears are what you want but not sure about the pink color, haven't seen that but I'm sure they make it.  Tip"  Use white first and then the clear color, makes them much brighter.

I've always looked for a lime green and can never find it. Tiffany blue would look nice on the new notchback also...

Is it the delta creamcoat acrylic paint?  I have always used Testors or Tamiya which looks great but never could find out what Scotty used.

Tamiya's light green is a good lime green (it's quite bright, almost fluorescent).

Never had much luck with Tamiya though (too thin, does not dry very quickly, I'm not a very patient man), quick dry nail polish and Testors work best for me.

The correct name for Delta's acryclic paints is Ceramcoat, not Creamcoat. Did not see a translucent pink in either the on Tamiya or Delta websites.

I emailed Delta Ceramcoat and they said their paint is not durable enough for golf clubs. Then I saw a video of Scott Cameron in his workshop talking about his paintfill...hes says " 2-part epoxy paint".

I used basic acrylic paint form hobby lobby with clear nail polish and I haven't had any problems. Played about 20 rounds or so.

Plus it's a lot of fun having all the women stare at you as if something is completely and utterly wrong about you being there.  Then you say "but it's for my golf clubs".  And they begin to laugh harder while whispering to the friend they are with while walking away....

but WTF.....nail polish works fantastically...........so what if strangers thought I was gay for 5 minutes....

I've stood in the nail polish section for 10-15 minutes at a time and not once have I felt like anyone was trying to judge me or think that I'm gay, and I live in the lovely Bible Belt... Nail polish is the best way to go as long as you can get the right color you want, a lot of the colors are translucent/candy type colors (especially the reds) and others often have flake in them, just gotta keep looking, they're so much easier to work with than any hobby paints. Always finish with a clear topcoat (gloss or matte) and it'll last a long long time.

1. Self-checkout
2. Look blankly at a piece of paper like it's a shopping list, they'll think a lady sent you :)

That's exactly what I did.  I bought $1 nail polish from Target, but as more of a temporary fix than a long-term commitment.   I'm happy with the results I have with the polish, but I am still going to change to the Tamiya paints because I love the translucent look.  Here's how mine came out:

If you think that buying nail polish is a strange feeling, try explaining to a pharmacist that you are really going to use a needle and syringe for paint fill on a putter!  The look I got back was "sure you didn't already shoot up?"

I'm sure it would make it easier to notice track marks all over your body if you had used the needles to shoot paint.

You probably should go buy duct tape, a ski mask, rope, condoms and Chloroform.... do this while wearing an all black track suit or sweatpants and a hooded sweat shirt and a sinister look on your face. Also, ask the lady if she could please hurry up because cheerleading practice gets out in a few minutes...... This will make buying nail polish a whole lot easier after you go through a "practice" run with the above mentioned products.

Duct tape - what can't you use it for
Ski Mask - going skiing in 2 weeks
Rope - making a tire swing
Condoms- the last store you went to ran out of balloons and you have a water balloon toss tomorrow
Chloroform - commonly used as something to do with refrigeration.

Looks good, but I see how the translucent is preferred on this finish. I have a black putter so I went opaque.

I use a product called Citristrip. It's an orange gel that works very well. I got it at my local Wal-Mart. They had it with all the other paint removers.

That is beautiful!  I can only hope that when I use the Tamiya paints that it looks that good.    The hardest part of doing the paint fill for me is when cleaning up the excess paint, trying not to get the excess that is wiped into the other paint filled areas.  Gonna use tape next time.  I use a toothpick to put the paint in the desired areas to be careful which works pretty well.  Cleaning up the excess I've always used paper towels but I'm going to try the routine that the OP supplied.  Seems like a pretty good guide.

Has anyone ever tried using white before the translucent paints, like Augusta suggested?  I'd like to see how it looks
