Cameron had problems with the finish on the Studio Designs, Circa '62's, California's and now this. You think he would be able to figure it out. I haven't heard complaints about the finish on the $79 Cleveland Classic Black Platinums.
Hating makes the world go round!
The truth hurts. So this is the rebuttal Cameron fans give rather than addressing facts. If I paid $350 for a putter that had this kind of problem I would be upset too.
+1. If I paid $40 for a golf club that wasn't made the way it was advertised, I'd have a problem. Much less $350. If you bought a spin milled vokey and the face didn't have milling marks because "it's common for companies to screw up the milling where there are grooves," wouldn't you be pissed? i would.

Does anyone know who to contact about this or is the consensus the finish is something I need to live with.

I have looked at numerous black Scotty select putters and I haven't noticed those rainbow colors.

For mine it appeared after the first day. I looked it over very well when I got it and there was no discoloration. Like I said before, it's like a water spot on the ceiling. Dark in the middle and lighter on the edges. I don't want a replacement because I really like this one. A new putter will never be the same. I'm just wondering if there are other Selects discoloring in the same spot.

I have the Newport 1.5. I emailed Titleist and they never replied.

I had a spot on the top line of my Newport (see picture). I thought it was just variation in the finish; however, I hit it with some acetone and the spot came right off. I can tell you that the spot was not water soluble, but acetone did the trick. I think it was likely an oil residue that was left on the putter from manufacturing. You might give acetone a try, it won't hurt the finish.

I emailed Scotty Cameron to see what can be done
That sounds defective to me. I'm sure SC will fix this for you and make it right.
So....not sure if this was ok but they fixed it by replacing the head. My problem, the shaft band was stripped and the putter came with chemical all over it. Oh, the headcover was worse off then when I sent it.
