under armour, they come in a couple different lengths, you can find them at dick's sporting goods

or

addidas makes a poly spandex blend you can find at Kohl's'

The UA one's have access for your....

The addidas does not.

They both keep you cool and dry.

I would recommend them both.

***EDIT: I am referring to athletic style boxer briefs.

Target carries Champion boxer briefs that are just like the Under Armour boxer jocks for half the price ($10/pair). Any pair of polyester boxer briefs are best for summer as they wick away moisture and cool you off. Only problem is they smell like a** after a long day.

Seriously what is the best at keeping cool/dry?

Commando has to be a serious option here with powder.

I wear the Layer 8 boxer jocks I get from Marshalls. They're like 7 dollars. Perfect for the gym, and golf.

UnderArmor boxer jock.  I have 5 pairs of them.  Add in a little GoldBond powder on REALLLLLY hot days and you're golden.

Yes. That's what all the Under Armour stuff is made of. But you pay more for the "Under Armour" logo versus Champion or any other brand you can find at discount stores. All the expensive tech-material golf clothes are made of polyester as well. Doesn't absorb sweat and soak you the way cotton does.

Any brand that uses polyester/spandex (also called elastane or Lycra) is your best option in the summer. The softer/silkier they feel, the better for moisture wicking. It means they have more filaments per fiber for the moisture to travel along to evaporate. Just look for poly/spandex at the best price.

I tried the Jockey "Tebows" - supposed to be 3-4* cooler.  Got them at the Jockey outlet store.

So far, so good.

After the underwear thread from last summer, I tried them all.

The winner is the C9's from Target.  Moisture wicking compression briefs with DuoDry.

These hold up just as well as the UA stuff.  More, you can actually put them on when you get out of a shower.  The UA compression briefs just won't go on unless you are totally dry to start with.  If your legs are damp at all, they don't go on.

Also, the UA's most often would give me some red-rider after a day out on the course.  The C9's don't.

I have 3 pairs of the UA's that I only wear after all my C9's are in the wash.  And I put those on after I wake up and have been in bed for 6 hours.  That way I'm dry enough to actually get them on.

I love this forum as I learn about many wonderful products that I'll find useful.  But in the case of moisture-wicking underwear, I've found a solution and the C9's are it.

OP, the type of underwear to recommend really depends upon your gender and your build.  If you are male, I suggest all cotton, your choice of briefs or boxers.

If  you are female, and built like Holly Sonders, I'd suggest something completely different and even offer to help pick it out.

If you want a case of swamp azz, I would suggest you go all cotton as well.
