Just installed Lamkin tour cords on a set of irons. They feel pretty slick compared to another set with Lamkin crossline full cords which have been used a little while now. Are there any tricks to increasing the tackiness of the tour cords? Any chance they'll get tackier as they wear a bit?

Sand paper. Rough up the cords. I actually keep some in the bag.

Keep in mind the grips are new, won't roughing up the cord bring it out more? Almost feel like there's too much cord on the grips compared to the crossline cords.

Exactly. They may not feel "tacky" per se, but they sure won't feel slick any longer.

I do the sandpaper thing too to bring out more cord but cord grips are not really "tacky" grips. If you are looking for that tacky feel you picked the wrong grip.

Yeah, didn't expect them to be tacky like non cord grips. Just thought they'd be somewhat similar to the crossline full cords. Maybe since they were the blems from golfsmith they over did it with the cord.

Too bad you can't trade them with one of the guys complaining about the new Golf Pride grips not having enough cord.

Gorilla gold grip enhancer. Found them at Golf Galaxy. One quick rub and thats all you need. The first 2 grips I applied it too much and it was too tacky.
