Just picked this putter up off a fellow wrxer.  Excited about getting it.   Has anyone on here ever had one or what can you tell me about it?  I know they were not popular here but still look like they retail for 650 right now

Useless posts are not needed.  You have no idea for what I paid and plenty of Bettinardis are $600+

I have one.  It's my favourite putter.  And i've tried a lot of putters.   Long heel to toe - thin front to back.  Great feel.

Thanks for the feedback.  What headweight is it?  Do you know?  I plan on bending mine to about 68.5* or so but definitely cant wait to get it in the bag

What's the insert made of? Some Bettinardi putters are rare, making them worth more but I see alot of Betty's going for this amount too.

I believe it is a copper insert.

nice betti you got there. maybe check out puttertalk forums for some better answers. also, there is a bettinardi thread in the putter section so perhaps ask around there. im sure venno and jcigars could answer your questions better than most of us can.

What do you need to know aside from what I mentioned in PT. Modeled after a Ping PAL

The MC2 and MC3 Victory Series. Maruyama Crew-Japan market putters. Black Thunder finishes. Copper Inserts. Limited release versions of the "regular" MC Series, which were non-insert and not Black Thunder (there is no MC1). Headweight is about 345 IIRC.

I would say circa 2003-2004.

Just was looking for any info as I couldnt find any.  I couldnt find the lie, loft, or headweight and those all would be nice to know.  Also if this thing is worth anything (already got one opinion) and just was looking for peoples experiences with it

You mean sold here/PGJ?

http://www.progolfja...m/28008_001092/

The specs are there.

I had a Cameron Tei3 at the same time and I found the copper insert on the MC3 a tad softer. On slow (7 on the stimpmeter)greens I would have a hard time getting the ball to the hole.

Worth is dependent.

I basically gave mine away because of a few reasons......the guy who wanted to buy it was a friend who grew playing Ping PAL putters. I can't putt with plumber's necks. I had won it in a tournament as well, so no cost to me. I did make a 20 footer for eagle on a Par4 with it in a tournament and won something worth $200 in value.

Yeah on that website.  Why do you think they are still selling it on there if the putter is so much older.   I would have guessed like 2006

If you are looking to make a profit I never see these types of Bettis, unless the letters/word PROTOTYPE (or PROTO/TOUR) are clearly written on the putter sell for more than 200$.

I do know Vijay Singh won the 2004 PGA with a MC-3 model, so I think the 2003 or 2004 vintage is correct.  One of the few models I have yet to try, though they look amazing.  Good luck with it.  I believe these usually sell in the $200-300 range.

Why they are still selling it? No idea. Probably still have some inventory left over or they got them at good prices from some store in Japan because they are an older model.

There are some putters out there that probably had some inventory left behind. You hear it sometimes with the Tad Moore Barn Finds, some older TP Mills heads that eventually get redone/reshaped a bit then re-released. If you get to Studio B they probably will have 4-5 putters of an older model stored somewhere that you could probably make an offer on.

IMHO I don't think PGJ will get the price they want unless it is a true collector/PAL fan who is buying.
