Finally got around to making a WITB.
I dont have an official handicap. I shoot low 80's. My last three nine hole scores have been-41-42-41. My game is improving quite a bit lately. Im staring to make birdies rather than just limiting bogies. I always seem to put a big number on the card at some point.

On to the clubs.
Distances
Driver-280 on average
3 wood-255
3 iron-230
4 iron215
5 iron-200
6 Iron 185
7 iron-170

">Wedges are CG10-54-60
I also have an old tommy armour 51 wedge that isnt the greatest but I dont really use it very much so I haven't really needed to replace it.Posted Image

Thanks. The classic is amazing. The feel is perfect and I have gained distance over my ping rapture which has a reputation for being a cannon. IMO the classic is pretty forgiving as well. Hope you enjoy yours.

I liked everything about the classic except the closed face, I hit the same combo you own and was dropping bombs but when they handed me the 9* with a 60something X flex Miyazaki I think Kusala.. I like the bag, now I'm not alone as the only Jr. on here playing X and getting the flame for it. :black eye: Nice bag.

Thats interesting My 290 appears to sit dead square. About the x flex, I guess I just have a hard transition and it allows me to load them fine. I can get 300 off the tee but I lose accuracy and I will take fairways over an extra 15 yards. Im more of a feel player than a numbers and stats kinda guy so I dont have any exact numbers as far as spin and lauch...etc. If I felt the x flex was hurting my game I wouldn't play them, I could care less whether its stiff or x or even regular as long as it works for me. If people want to call me out for playing x thats fine but Its what Im using and will continue to use.

I just said I'm not getting smaller or weaker at this point so why would I soft step an X or get a tipped S, I mean, I gain distance by the month now with lessons.

Looking into getting a new shaft in my 3 wood. Maybe even replace it. I wonder if Cleveland will come out with a classic fairway. I know I would try one.

i hope they do too, it would seem obvious to me if they get good sales from the driver, then everyone would go out and buy the matching 3 wood, i've heard there isn't anything in the works

From what I have heard the driver is selling really well. I know mine was back ordered for a few weeks.

Thanks. Its the best driver I have ever hit. The gold on the face of the club helps me line up and I seem to make better contact. If I don't feel comfortable looking at the club I just cant hit it.

Shot a nice 40 today. My low for that course. Could have easily been a 39 if it had not been for an approach shot that hit the pin and took a bad kick,

So how are you liking the Classic now? Still love it? How's the distance? I remember it being the longest I tried up until the i20 came along..

My ball striking is improving with blades but im not sure if I should keep playing them. I will be working very hard on my game this summer to get ready for golf season in the fall. I dont mind struggling with the mishits but I want my scores and iron play to improve. If that means keep playing the cg1's thats fine but If i am better of with a combo set or players cavity i dont know. What should I do keep working with the blades and think of them somewhat as a training aid or get some irons that will be more forgiving?

I thought i should get blades to improve my game, until I got my AP2's. Blades could improve your game in the long run, but the forgiveness of a player's CB will lower your scores. That's how it worked for me at least.

So im planning on getting a new set of irons for this years golf season which is only a few months away. Right now My top two choices are the Nike VR combos or the VR pro cavity. I know that they are quite different but thats whats making the decision difficult. Do i get the combos that reward my good shots with great feel and control or go with the easier to hit irons that I can pure every time? I believe I will hit the vr combos just fine but theres always a bad day or shot that can ruin a scorecard and having these compared to the pro cavity's makes a difference. I just want to do what i can to lower my scores, because the scorecard doesn't care what irons you play. Im playing blades now and have drastically improved my ball striking. The combo set theoretically is exactly what I want in an iron set. But like I said I want to make bad days better.
Hope this makes sense.
Any advice is appreciated.

The irons are the purest that I've ever hit. Great feel and looks all through. The blades are actually very easy to hit, and the split cavity give you forgivness that you need. My only complaint is that I have not been a fan of the 3 iron and 4 iron so far (Full cavity) they don't have a nice feel in my opinion, so if you have the game, i would look into ordering the 3 and 4 in split cavity!
Goood luck with your game,

Walshy

Btw if you didn't know the set goes P,9,8 blades - 7,6,5 Split-Cavity- 4,3 full cavity

Dusted off my old Ping i3's with JZ stiff shafts today. I think its finally time to get rid of them. I was a club shorter and dont like the turf interaction. Maybe the BST or hold on to them.

Recently picked up a callaway 07 x forged 3 iron bent to 15*. I am using it as a driving iron and really liking it. Especially on short holes with tight fairways. Im still deciding on my next set of irons. Its now between the callaway razr mb and the adams mb2. I cant decide between the two. Everyone says go with the one you like to look at the most, and that would be the Adams. Just cant pick one or the other. :russian_roulette: Might as well get both :pimp:
