Wonder what all her sponsors really think? Of course they will say the politically correct thing, but do wonder if they think they are getting their money's worth.

She can't play golf there, can she, because she has already turned professional? I just don't get it...

Stupid Girl that is mildly good at golf + Excellent school - Any chance of college golf career = Still a stupid girl who just hasn't made as much money as she would have only playing golf...

How can she play golf at Stanford if she is a professional? Is there some loop hole in the NCAA rules that allow this.

EDIT All right Road Warrior made my point.

The article never says anything about her playing golf at Stanford so why would you think that? She couldn't play if she wanted to as the NCAA wouldn't allow that. She is going to school to get an education.

Stanford doesn't accept "stupid" people. Your post on the other hand would probably qualify as a definition for the word.

Agreed, she is very smart and even her friends are very smart as two of them were accepted to Duke and Harvard. I also would go too far with the "mildy good at golf', because even though she hasn't made a cut in a men's event she has done better than most of us on here ever would. I would hold my tongue with posts like that.

I agree, but still she hasn't proved to me or pretty much anyone else she can do anything special on the men's tour. She's come in dead last and second to last like 4 times recently.

She makes no sense. I don't understand here career path at all. No college then college, turning pro at 16, trying to compete on the mens tour when she can't even win on the Womens Tour. Then going to Stanford and being able to play college golf because she is already pro. Maybe its just me but I fluidness if that the word for it in her path.

But I guess congrats to her making it into Stanford!

Thank you, mcbush. Geez, guys, get a grip. I've never seen so many grown men get so bent outta shape over a 17-year old girl. Well, not in this kind of way anyway. You hear so many commentators talk about how Paula and Morgan are missing out by not going to school first and everyone agrees. Michelle decides to go to school and everybody's up in arms. The girls gets no breaks.

Besides, if you read the article completely and unbiasedly, you'd have read that Tiger left school two years earlier to turn pro. Michelle is already pro so mayble that'll help her get through the whole 4 years. Go 'head, Michelle, get yo' edgamacation on! :D

whilest im not the biggest fan of her desire to play in mens events (godspeed nonetheless) i still cant undertsand how people can bash her as a female golfer.

Her results in LPGA majors this year:

Kraft Nabisco Championship T3
LPGA Championship T5
U.S. Women's Open T3
Women's British Open T26

Thats pretty damn solid, regardless of age.

what gives?

Yeah dude she should be in the women's events. Show me one solid finish in a men's event.

She is not playing college golf at Stanford!!! She is going to school for an education. She wouldn't be able to play due to her turning professional already. I don't know why everyone keeps thinking she is playing golf at Stanford. Read the article for crying out loud, it doesn't say anywhere in the article that she will be playing for Stanford.

I commend the young lady for getting her education (if she finishes) instead of riding her fame that could very well be cut short at a moments notice.
