A tick early, but what the heck, it's a major.

I think one of the things which makes The Masters so special is the long break between majors.  That eight month wait really breeds anticipation.  I'm really excited, too.

And I'll see your "Go Tiger!," and raise you a "Go Phil!"

Haha, yuck! And yea, it's definitely the anticipation and long lay-off that makes it so great. I really hope the course plays tough this year. I hate seeing majors won at -13.

Ohhhh yesssss!!! I don't think I've been this excited for any golf tournament as this one ever! Personally, I'm hoping for a tougher test this year as the last few years were birdie fests.

Well, so often the prevailing weather conditions play a large part in how challenging courses play.

As I type the relative humidity in Augusta, GA is 74%, and the long-term forecast calls for a slight chance of showers on Tuesday, with a better chance of scattered showers on both Thursday and Friday.

Consequently, the course will likely not play as rock-hard and fast as they would like, but it's still Augusta, complete with the sub-air, and it will be fast.

I think it is reasonable to expect the winning score to be between 12 and 15 under par, especially if there is not significant wind.

Yes, I could Google it, but, if anyone (preferably a local) has got a reliable weather forecast for the week, I'd love to see it. We don't need any rain/thunder delays.....

I agree about the 8 month wait adding to the anticipation.  I remember thinking on the Monday after last years PGA, Damn, now we have to wait almost 8 months until the Masters.  Well it's hear!!!

I have a friend who's an instuctor and always gives me good insight as to what he does and doesn't like about about almost every PGA Tour players swings and such.   So this mornign we were discussing who the favorites were for this week and we each picked a dark horse.

We both had the usual suspects as favorites,  Tiger, Rory, Phil and Luke.  Then we each picked a long shot/dark horse.  I went very long and said I like Mark Wilson chances if he can hit it far enough off the tee.   He likes Justin Rose.   I'm not so sure Justin Rose qualifies as a long shot, but I let him have it :)

The weather forecast seems similar to the 2011 US Open forecast ;)

On a serious note, when are tee times released?

Yep, sometime tomorrow. Anyone know how much TV coverage there will be? I hate how Augusta limits it. We should get to watch every shot every day!

Yea ESPN isn't all over it the way they should be. Golf Channel pisses me off when they start coverage at 2 or 3 pm, but it is what it is. Something tells me ESPN will probably start coverage around 1 eastern

As  for actual TV coverage Thrusday and Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 Pm I believe, Saturday 2:00 to 6:00 and Sunday I think is the most like 1:30 or something like that.

Masters.Com  has live streaming starting on Wed of the Par 3 and practice rounds.  Then Thursday they have coverage of two feature groups and Amen Corner and usuall holes 15 & 16.

The quality of the streaming is unbelievable, at least as good as HD if not better!!

I have been watching the Masters Ipad App for the last week. Anyone that doesn’t already have it for their Droid or Iphone, I highly recommend it. I don't know how they do it. But their website and Apps are continually the best in any industry, year after year.

Not going to lie, definitely pulling for Tiger on this one, nothing better then a Sunday charge out of him on the back nine.

Sounds like an excellent menu Plutch, but now I have to fix Fried Chicken and Waffles for dinner!  (are you in the syrup camp, or gravy?)

Why not both??  I won't tell your cardiologist :)

yeah, amazing how some people will say something is horrible, just because they are ignorant of something or not exposed to it.

Myself, that is as menu and party that I would remember look forward to each spring.  And yes I have lived in the north as well as the south.
