On another note, after seeing her do it I wonder if any other LPGA or PGA players do it. I can't remember seeing any other players with headphones in, but maybe some of you guys have.
I'm sure I've seen some pictures of players wearing headphones on the range in the tournament photos on this site. Not completely sure on any specific players, but I feel like I remember seeing AK wearing headphones on the putting green in one set of photos.

I try and practice as comfortably as possible. There is something to be said for practicing "in-game" situations, but listening to some soft music keeps me calm, focused, and in tempo. Also love blocking out my surroundings, don't need to be bothered with most of the schmucks at the range.

First off, "your" music is good for "you". It soothes the soul, relaxes you and puts you in a good mood.
But the biggest reason I like it is because it creates less distractions for me. When I have my music on I'm in my own word focusing on what I want to focus on. I don't have to worry about what others on the range are doing. My peeves are when the guy next to you is overswinging, or creating ugly mishit sounds, grunting, or whining/sighing - all these things often distract me from what I am trying to work on.

Lately I have been listening to Skrillex exclusively.

They come with a clip on the cord, so I thread the cord through my shirt, give a little slack coming out so there isn't any pull on my ears through a full swing, and clip it on the inside of the shirt. No tug, completely comfortable. Really helps me to block out all the yahoos at the range.

S9-HD user, here, too. The best part is that you don't have to have the source on your person.

When I'm wearing a golf shirt though, which I'll keep tucked in, I can't run the cord down the shirt. In that case I'll keep the iPod in my back pocket as I normally would, but then I loop the cord through the gap in the back of my golf hat. The hat keeps pressure on the cord, so then the weight and movement of the cord during the swing don't yank the ear buds out.
