My daughter is a freshman in high school.  Shoots in the 90's.  My wife and I usually watch her play.  We have a lot of family in town this week and about 10 of them want to watch her.  I am worried having this much family will distract her.  We only have a few days before the tournament.  Any advice?

Ask her what she wants. I always hates people trying to talk to me while I played, but who knows she might love it and feed off the attention.

This, personally I don't like anyone there. Just ask her and see what SHE wants

I agree with asking your daughter what she prefers. As for myself, I like having that added presure of a gallery. It seems like whenever I have the cart girl, the foursome of old guys driving up behind us, or my buddies watching me on an important shot I always hit a clutch shot.

Thanks everyone.  Its hard to tell family from out of town they can't go. I am sure she will do fine.  It is only one tourney.

Like everyone else said see what what you daughter wants. If it will make her uncomfortable and she blows up and has a terrible round that could cause some damage.  ASK HER!!

This may sound crazy, but I have a really great instructor who added a little gimmick to my pre-shot routine. Basically, after I picture the shot from behind the ball, and as I approach the ball, I "pass through" a spot about two feet behind the ball. At that spot, all thought ceases...no swing thoughts, no care for anyone else around, nothing. It's amazing how this really works with a little work. If you make an effort to do it, it works. I guess I never thought about it before, and I've been playing a long, long time. I shot one of my best tournament rounds the weekend after I added it. Maybe just having that point beyond which there is no thought, frees you up. Maybe a little more than you wanted, but I hope she works on it and does well. My daughter is also a freshman in high school and playing this week. She's working on the same thing. Good luck.

It really didn't. That's what's so great. Probably one day of implementing it, and then by the second round I played, it was working. Probably will take a bit longer for our girls, but it works.
