The Xcaliber line is the best shaft on the market for the price. I played Diamana and Fubuki prior to the Xcaliber. The shafts are just as good for 1/4 of the price.

I agree as well as long as the feel isn't offputting to you.  Some people just hate the super low torque feel.  With that being said, I love it and if you're looking for something really good, try the 86g tour stock V2's for fairways, they are just super good.

I think Stricker still uses that shaft in his driver.

Maybe I've been lucky but the two shafts I use are actually under $100 anyway.  Aldila DVS and Aerotech Claymore MX48.  The former provides greater distance and the latter provides better dispersion numbers for me.  Same shafts in a R11 and now a 910 D3.  Both were the result of a fitting.

i have the exact ones you mentioned in my fairway woods and absolutely love them.  i had the 76g in my 909D3 and wasn't a fan...but it turns out it was the driver itself i struggled with, not the shaft.  found out the hard way, trying 3 different (VERY different) shafts in it, and couldn't get along with any of them.

Harrison Eclipse is an awesome driver shaft. Long, accurate, and incredibly smooth. The Saga is a great choice as well. For the money, its hard to beat Harrison shafts.

I'm a Talamonti guy and have them in the entire top end of my bag.  For a brand new, custom fit (just email Phil, he'll get you where you want to go) it's $75 plus shipping from his website.  I'm not going to post the address here because i'm sure it'd get deleted, but his name is "talamonti" and he sells "shafts" at a ".com" address.

Mr. Woodland has a 96x in his fairway. That's a lumberjack shaft, right there.

New Image (bought from Hireko). I have last year's Red Image X and absolutely bomb it!
Even though it's an "X", it plays more like a stiff-plus. Hireko charts/compares all their
shafts against each other and it's a handy tool to use when looking at shaft specs.
The 2012  "Tour Black" Red Image version is still $42, which makes it an excellent buy.

I am using the Tour 6+ S in driver, and Tour Fairway and Hybrid also in stiff. Very stiff lower section without feeling "boardy"

Yep, V2 is a great shaft but I think they are soft a half a flex. I tried the 7070 Stiff with 2.2 degrees of torque and I had to really take a slow controlled swing to not snap hook it or block it. Moved to the 7070 X and all is better.

Aldila Proto VS is good too. Very stable with good feel.

+1 for the GD YS-6+.. Still one the best shafts I've hit. Everyone seems to have that shaft that just works for them, and this one is mine. Can't  beat it at $69 new either. You can keep the high dollar junk, this shaft has performed just as good and/or better than any other thing I've tried.

For under $100, I like the Graphite Design YS 7+ (if you can find them around), Grafalloy Pro Launch Platinum 75 (again if you can find them), Aldila NV 75, and another "if you can find them" shft, the original Grafalloy Blue.
