In the newest Golf Galaxy magazine there are some pictures of the new Nickent hybrids, 7DX and 7DT. It appears these have white crowns. I believe the ad says they are coming March 31st or something like that. So far I have not been able to find any info online. Anyone know anything about these?

I think Nickent is now a Dick's/Golf Galaxy exclusive brand, so their websites may be the only place to find any info on them.  Someone will correct me if I'm wrong I"m sure:)

I saw them too.  They look interesting but I don't know anything else about them.

I just bought the 6DT (22* and 25*) from Dicks.  They are $60 right now.  I really like them and I never was a big hybrid fanin the past.

I just got my Dick's catalog in the mail today. I must admit that from the pictures they look good. If the price is right I might just have to check it out.

They were not a house brand, but now Maltby/Dick's bought them.  They have been around for a long time and can be found online too.  They have the same Aldila R.I.P. shafts and the newest Golf Pride NDMC Whiteout grips as the popular brands.  The shaft/grip combo alone is worth $100 or more.  I might steal one off EBay just for this reason!

If you are not a golf fanatic, that statement might just make you do a spit take.

Just had a chance to hit the 7dx against the Adams a12os and Nike vr_s.  All 5h.  Thought the nickent felt the best.  Definitely the most forgiving.  The wide face instills confidence.  Distance was close on all but was hitting the nickent more flush so on avg it went further.  To me the nickents face felt very taylormade-ish.

Strange that nickent, Dicks and golf galaxy sites do not even list the 7 series yet.

Not sure what model do to laziness but has anybody tried the 19* and 22* and are they as easy to hit as before meaning 2009 or earlier? They were bombers back then.

Haven't had the chance to hit the 3 or 4 hybrids yet.

I picked up the 3DX Ironwood last year off a used rack and was not a big fan.  I would say the 7DT model is more similar to their past hybrid designs.  Less offset, more of a player's type hybrid.

Their 7DX has more offset, has a very shallow and wide face.  When hitting it, first thing it reminded me of was my K15 5w.  I play the K15 wood for this very reason, very wide face, shallow profile and and deep from front to back.

By far it's the widest face hybrid I've ever hit.  I think it would cater to somebody who is more of a sweeper like me.
I compared it to the Adams A12OS and the boxy design and taller face of the Adams just doesn't appeal to me.  People rave about Adams hybrids and I want to love them every time I enter the store but whenever I hit them I never feel like I am getting anything out of the club.  Their muted feel just feels dead to me.

Anyway, the Nickent gave me a very confident feeling over the ball.  I mishit my hybrids alot so I am thinking this one might go in the bag later this week once I can hit up the store again.   Probably go with the 5h to replace my 4i and perhaps pickup the 4h as well to replace my VR_S hybrid.

By the way if you haven't seen them, the Aldila RIP shaft, the Golfpride black/white multicolor grip and white head is a pretty sick looking combination.

These were the only pics I could find online.

My link

Then browse to page 25.

Looks like the 7DX has the RIP Beta shaft and the 7DT has the RIP Theta
Doesn't appear to be a made for shaft either.

You are correct regarding the prices.  I picked up the 3h in the 7dx.  Trying it out tomorrow.    The head on the 7dx is really wide and looks really easy to hit.  If all goes well I will look to replace my 3dx 4H as well.  If the performance is anywhere close to the appearance and feel this could be the best value hybrid in 2012.   I will post back tomorrow after my round.

The 7dx has the longest face I have ever seen on a hybrid, heel to toe. But it looks good. Saw them both today.
The 7dt looks good and I would consider playing it. Shaft and grip look awesome. Would love to hear some folks thoughts on feel with these guys. I will hit them in the sim soon.

They actually look really good! Wonder how they perform?

This is the 2nd gen design from Dicks, so wonder if they came up with a better performer than the first?

Hope they left some blood line from the original Nickent.

Ok picked up the 7dx and went to the course today.  Ridiculously forgiving.  The face is so wide and regardless of where you hit the ball you are going to end up with damn good distance.  The head is a little heavier so if you are looking to generate more club head speed with less weight this may not be the hybrid for you.  This hybrid is perfect for the mid to high capper that has a moderate to fast swing speed that is more concerned with forgiveness than distance.

The Dick's near Chapel Hill or the one in Montrose?????

They do look pretty good. I will have to give them a test run on the LM against my 3dx RC and  DC.
