Very Very Very impressive iron. I hit these the other day when the rep was in, insane. Remind me of the AP2 like another poster said, but very nice smooth and a great feel. Cobra has something going here, just not sure how stoked I am on the orange......

You can see as a bunch AMP Forged have great looking cavities... the Orange really looks great to my eye. I've only had great compliments so far...

Specs are as follows...
Shafts: DG tour issue S-300
Loft: Std
Lie: 2* flat (on the button)
Length: Std
Swing weight: D-3 (every iron)
Attachment iphone4 3-20-2012 2 154.JPG

PW- Perfect size for a pitching wedge, looking down from any lie breathes much confidence... not too big, not too small. I would say just right! Distance was up about 3 to 4 yds for me on the PW, 9 & 8i. Feels is SUPER soft as well.
Attachment iphone4 3-20-2012 2 155.JPG
Attachment iphone4 3-20-2012 2 156.JPG
Attachment iphone4 3-20-2012 2 157.JPG

7i- Again the perfect size and shape for a 7i. This is where I found the distance increase even more than the shorter irons. I would say 5yds on avg. Super soft feel even on slight misses from the center of the face... toe or heel.
Attachment iphone4 3-20-2012 2 159.JPG
Attachment iphone4 3-20-2012 2 160.JPG
Attachment iphone4 3-20-2012 2 161.JPG

4i- Yes, perfect size for a 4i as well... this was really the test for me because many long irons look  big from heel to toe and the AMP Forged long irons are perfect! Same distance gain as the mid irons... about 5yds.

Overall, I was surprised more than anything! Look was great so I thought man, I really hope they aren't tough to hit... I hit on the range before the round and that was NOT the case, they were easy to hit and I fell in love but, still thought the course would really be the test! Well,  I played them 2 complete rounds and as I said in my AMP Hybrid thread, I bagged them instantly! This is first set of irons Ive had in 4 to 5 years that I can really flight the ball high and low... it just seemed easy.  I could not believe I purposely left all my gamers at home. I did this for two rounds to give the new CPG stuff a really fair shot... after all I was treated like a tour player for a day. I felt I owed it to ROBO and CPG Pimp Daddy Mac to do so and IT WORKED OUT! My old gamers haven't left the golf room and I don't think they will unless they are in a box to whoever, wherever! I'm not one to jump to one brand in the bag so fast but, I will be playing CPG this season. Bottom line is... grab a set, you will NOT be disappointed.

They do look nice, reminds me of AP-2 like someone else said. Q: Is it really DG Tour Issue S300? I had no idea they came in that flex. Something new?

Yes, DG tour issue S-300... not sure if they are tour only but, I have always asked for them and received.

Thanks for the review.  I heard that the RF prototypes may come out in August.

Not sure on that. I can ask but, I did see them in steps 2 and 4... they do NOT look hittable to me but, doesn't mean you cant hit them. I'll get back to you on that.
Thanks.

I got to hit these awhile back, they fell super awesome.  I have the Cobra pro mb/cbs and they feel just as good, with a lot more forgiveness.  The tech Cobra put into their clubs is unreal.  I find it crazy that people assume it is the opposite.

These are a respectable set of irons, just the right amount of offset with just the right amount of cavity. Too bad the orange takes away from the iron   Posted Image

Still waiting for my forged to arrive...should be here in Canada any day now.
Got everything else dialled in! Dropped TM for the new Amp line after a demo!
I was hooked on the first contact.

Hit the AMP forged yesterday at a demo day.
Smooth as butter.
I had not considered this set prior to yesterday.
I will have some very difficult decisions this season.  I am not a club ho by any means, but I will be testing these, MP-59 and Ping I20.
I hit them all very well, but I was not on a monitor.
I liked the feel of the kbs shafts, as I had never hit them before.

Yes, I do have S-300 but, the Cobra guy's are putting KBS in a swell. Really smooth from what I hear.

I'm really excited about these irons, I was given a May 1 delivery date so the wait begins! I was flat out tearing the cover off of the ball today with my S3 Pro Combos, I really think they are the best set of irons I've ever played...BB

Nice comments!

I'm guessing the first was from an Ole Miss fan, the only Division 2 team allowed to play in the SEC, and the other from one of the few teams Tennessee beat last year!

As for the irons, the concept is just a cosmetic spin on the AP2's (rubber insert in cavity, heel and toe weighting). But the AP2's are better looking clubs.

Go Vols!!

I think a crafty lead tape job over the orange cavity would help.

I like the orange.  Those clubs look great IMO.  I don't think I'll be leaving the MX-23s anytime soon, but I would seriously like to see/hit these for sure.

So my shop in NH got two sets in today and now they are down to one! The comparison to Cobra's take on AP2 is not far off. BUT these look much better at setup and the feel is awesome! Hard to describe but very powerful feeling for forged, yet still soft and solid. The harder I swing these the better they perform.
The stock kbs s+ is a benefit for me as I always thought the kbs s was a touch soft. IMO they are a great match with the head. It is also workable in all directions and very forgiving on misfits. I am 47 and thought the orange would bother me, but it actually looks good and the 3gen grips are nice, very tacky.
I bought a Callaway TA driver yesterday and returned it towards these irons....wouldn't leave the store without them.

Big Ben you are going to love these, and I am a fan of the s3 pro too.......

S3 Pro is obviously less forgiving and more like the 712 CB, IMO. Once again I agree with BB on the love for the S3 Pro and not so much for the 712 CB. The Cobra would compare better to the AP2. They seem visually to have a little less offset than the AP2, but I have not seen the specs. I was also concerned about the stronger lofts, but I think because of the lower CG on these the lofts are perfect. No balloon balls, just a strong penetrating flight.
I am not a fan of the 712 AP2 and prefer the 710 AP2, that being said these Cobras just seem to outperform and outshine the AP2 in all areas.....but that is just my opinion, of course.
