Anyone try this yet?   I was ready to pull the trigger today but didn't have my size.  I know there are Ecco, Adidas, etc. but I like that these are waterproof.   I get heel pain sometimes when walking and these look awfully comfy.

My heel pain almost always comes from a too-stiff and overused plantar fascia. Proper shoes plus daily stretching of my foot (especially right before and after walking long distances) does a lot more good for me than just the shoes. But the shoes are necessary too.

I just got the brown with white trim Contour Casual and they work for me. They run a little large, in an Ecco golf shoe (traditional, not spikeless) I use Size 47 which is like 13-13.5 in USA sizes. I also tend to need wide in most FootJoy shoes. In the Contour Casual a 12 medium fits like a glove. Plenty of room even for thick socks. I think they run wide-ish by usual FootJoy standards and run at least a half-size almost a full size large.

Sounds about right, I tried on a pair in the store yesterday, very comfortable, I have one pair of contours now (BOA model) and the casual in the same size seem to work well for me, which is also one size less than would fit me in the Ecco's.  When the white comes out I might pick up a pair...

I picked up the black a couple days ago.   Felt better than the other spikeless to me...Ecco also good but I wanted the waterproof.   Play a lot early and the grass is usually wet then.   Looking forward to giving them a trial run this weekend.

Just got a pair and they are super comfortable.  Comparable to the Ashworth Cardiffs that I have been wearing since the end of January.  I would recommend them!

A got a pair a few weeks ago.  Absolutely love 'em.  Extremely comfortable (I'm a walker), good grip, and well made.  Wore them once last week under extremely soggy conditions and my feet stayed dry.  I'm going to buy another pair I like them so much.  Great shoes.

I've not tried the styles of Ecco shoe similar to the Comfort Casual. These FootJoys fit so well I'm not much tempted to look at anything else.

I'll also say this. All my street shoes are Ecco and I've used their golf shoes exclusively for years. However, given how the last pair of Hydromax I owned and one of the two pairs of World Class I own now have basically fallen apart after only 50-60 rounds the build quality of Ecco golf shoes obviously is not what it once was. Even the expensive high-end models last half as long as Ecco golf shoes did 6-7 years ago. The Ecco street shoes continue to hold up very well for me, BTW.

So at $150 for non-waterproof Ecco "Freddie" shoes vs. $100 for waterproof Comfour Casuals...let's just say I'm glad the latter fit so well. I could probably live with getting 60 rounds out of a $99 pair of shoes. I've a bit higher expectations when I pay Ecco prices.

Can you comment a little more on your problems with the Eccos (models, etc)?  Have been considering a pair of the biom hydromax and as you've mentioned to have them not hold up well at those prices would be disappointing to say the least.  Hydromax are supposed to have a 2 year waterproof warranty, did you by any chance deal with Ecco on this?

For the OP, I personally find both the Contour Casual and the Ashworth Cardiffs more comfortable than Ecco's biom hybrid, but every foot is different.  One thing I noticed is that the Contours have a 1 year waterproof warranty, while the Ashworths are good for two.

The fancy World Class shoes I've been using the last couple years delaminate in the heel. There's stacked layers making up their rather exaggerated tall heel, although I think it's layers of rubber and not leather. But after about 50-odd rounds one pair basically has the layers flopping apart at the back of the heel and the other pair on my right heel is starting to show a little crack/separation there. The pair with the falling-apart heels is white+brown and the white looks bad. No so much dirty and stained (although the do show a little bit of residual dirt because I don't put polish on them) but just the surface of the leather is kind of not smooth anymore and off-color even underneath any dirt that gets on there. The black ones still look OK, leather upper wise.

The Hydromax Flexors I used to wear were very sturdy and long lasting at one point. But the last two pairs just would not hold their shape. The upper of the shoe tended to sag over to one side or the other and get bulges in them. And the wonderful Ecco foot support (arch support) just disappeared after about 75 rounds. The whole construction of the shoe was just saggy and no longer to size or shape way too soon. Interestingly, they were still as waterproof as ever when I quit wearing them because they were misshapen and unsupported (less than 100 rounds).

LIke I say, I'm hard on shoes. About 220-odd pounds and playing virtually every single round on soaking wet grass first thing in the mornings. And I always walk. But I'm also fastidious about putting cedar shoe trees in the moment they come off my feet, almost never use the same pair of shoes two days in a row and I let them air dry instead of putting them by heat vents and such when they do get soaking wet. When all that care nets less than 100 rounds from a $160 pair of shoes it's time to look for something different! I think my limit is about a dollar a round so maybe these FootJoy will get me 99 rounds or more...

Good info. Been considering a pair of the Contour Casuals. Anybody know when the white ones will be released?

grabbed a pair of Brown today.  Went down 1/2 size from a normal Contour, the 11's had a bit of heel slip. So for anyone counting, that's

10.5 XW in Icons
11E in Classics
11 W in Contour
10.5W in Contour Casual

Mini Review, wore them for the first time today.  Wore them to the course, during the round, in the clubhouse for lunch, etc, and the ride home.  Very comfortable for the most part.  At first, I think I was a bit reluctant to go after it normally, course was a little wet and wasn't sure how well the nubs would grip  Glad to say not one slip all day.  After a few swings I was satisfied I could put a good aggressive swing on it and they held up fine. The only thing I can say is that late in the round/after the round the soles of my feet were a bit sore, I am assuming due to the fact I am used to a bit more arch... I've worn Classics or Icons for the past 20 years, so it is a bit of an adjustment.

Will give them another go tomorrow as well...

Well, if possible, they were even MORE comfortable today...  And we had a little 30 min rainshower right before our tee time so the course was pretty wet on the surface, and they held up fine grip-wise and waterproof-wise...  I think FJ has a winner here.

Will be interesting to see the white when they come out, they look almost too "tennis-shoe like" in the pics - the brown and black models less-so, which appeals to me.

Just picked some up for $50!. Dicks and GG has a sale going, 50% off all foot joys over $89! I think it ends today though and it was a special coupon the kid behind the counter gave me.

I have not seen the white or blue anywhere yet but I have just spent the last few rounds with the brown and black and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had on the golf course.  Best of all they come in wides.  No slipping so far and that is coming from a 330lb golfer.  Give them a try.

Just a followup, I did experience some slippage this weekend.  Was a very early tee time and course was dew-covered of course.  Maybe dew water is slicker than rain water lol...

Not excessive, right foot kicked out a few time early in the round.  Didn;t happen after the first couple of holes, either due to course drying up or me subconsciously adjusting something after a few slips...

Also, anyone have any idea on tread life?  Too early to know for sure but does FJ claim a certain life, or warranty for x amount of time?

I can't imagine they would warrant the life of those nubs. Any walking on concrete or asphalt is going to grind them off in no time at all. I'd imagine they'll last a long, long time on grass.

Followup to a Follow-up, exchanged mine today for 1/2 size larger using the FJ 30 day comfort guarantee...the 10.5's were pressing on my toes a bit and on the back 9 it would really get annoying.

So, that puts my Casuals in the same size as the normal model for me now, 11W...if that helps anyone.

I've been wearing Footjoy Contours for five years now.  The best walking shoe out there imho.  Can anyone compare the contour casual to the regular contour?  They aren't available in stores here yet.  Are they pretty close in comfort level?

I like the regular contours and didn't realize they make a spike less shoe!  I will have to check them out today and try a pair out as I have some spike less of another brand and like the concept!!!

I believe all the current "Contour" models have the slip last construction and use the "contour" last. So they ought to at least be in the same ballpark as the Contour Casuals for fit and comfort.

I find the Casual MORE comfortable than my regular Contours (I have a pair of the BOA model).

I bought them about 2 weeks ago. They are by far the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I walk all the time md I finish my round and my feet don't hurt the least bit.

They are made super big. I wore size 13 xwide in footjoy contours.
In the contour casuals I wear size 12 wide.

Now here lies the problem. I have maybe played 10 rounds max and the grip is already wearing down. The nubs on the outside of both feet are noticeably worn. Not completely worn but there is noticeable wear.

I am wondering if it's just initial wear and then it will taper or if it will go on till the outside are worn out completely.

Is there some kind of wear warranty? If it continues at this pace they will only last 3 months max.
