Saturday thru Sunday? That's A New One For Me.......

Bottom Line Is Phil Is Playing KBS Tours Today During The Tournament..... That Is A Fact.....  What he decides to play tomorrow or next month or next year only Phil knows........
Should we debate that also ????

This Is The Craziest Thread I Have Seen In A Long Time On GolfWRX.......

Saturday through Sunday, really?  If you think it's crazy now, give it a little time.

You are angry in your defense of Phil's shafts.....are you ok after he switched from the Speeder in his driver to a Diamana?

Ha, you’re missing the point, but thanks for taking the time to go find a Getty picture.  And that sounds angry to you?  Grin, no comment (other than to say it's at least less off base than the cynical comment).

In any event, with anger or cynicism or whatever you like, let me say again, Phil isn’t playing KBS, simple as that, and it’s misleading to suggest he is.

Tour players are trying out new shafts all the time (Phil is trying KBS; and has in the past as well).  But until they actually put them in play or are considering a switch, saying they’re playing them is a bit misleading.

Kim has a job to do, a business to run; and like any other OEM, if you can get a name to try out your clubs, shafts, whatever, it’s good for business, publicity, maybe even convince someone to switch (notwithstanding that you can have specs  built from one OEM to play just like a different OEM, labels aside).

Phil plays PX on Thursday through Sunday when it counts.  That’s irrefutable.  Appreciate your effort though. :)

Ugh...did you see Greg's post above??? That seems pretty definitive to me....

How do you know Phil is happy with PX? He must be happier with KBS to put them in play this week.

Oh he knows....Posted Image  I post a picture from today's round and he still says "they aren't in play" and he's "testing" them.  Very odd.  People get really worked up over their favorite pro's and the brands they are affiliated with.

I did, you must have not read the entire thread.  This will be fun to see how long it goes though.  Some of you boys grab a piece of meat and don't let go (not even knowing when it's not meat).

I play RAZR X Musclebacks with PX shafts just like my favorite player Phil does.

But I have neither the time nor the energy to switch shafts everytime Phil does.

I’m extremely disappointed with Phil.  But he will suffer bad karma today and shoot miserably as punishment for leaving the same set-up I have.

That is all.  For now.

Nice post after his round is already over.......
Phil's driving today let him down...... Although 1 over today wasn't too horrible considering the course and the conditions .......

If the man saw lefty try KBS tours what's the big deal? Pros often try/test new gear, even if it's the shaft I detest the most, KBS tour (I do love the c tappers though)

I tried them before ending up with c-taper. I had a ton of spin and a bit balloon. he must need more spin and higer ball flight to stop the ball at augusta.

It looks like Ben hasn't had a chance to move the Wednesday Pro-Am photos over (he's got finals this week) but he told me they would be moved over tonight.

Look at the Getty pictures from today.... They clearly show him playing them today....... Also watch the highlights on The Golf Channel, PGATour.com Etc.......
Not to mention I saw it in person with my own Two Eyes.....
I personally don't play KBS Tours I like Project X PXi's better for my swing...... I started this thread because I found it interesting...... Also the last few weeks KBS Tours have had some very high finishes........ Not because I am a huge KBS Tour Fan.......
Wow I have never seen so many naysayers in a thread before........ Crazy!
I am very interested in hearing more about the V2 KBS Tour shafts though if anyone can share some info ????

i gota say that if kbs is working go witht them if he is playing better with PX go with that, maybe even the kick points affect the play on specific courses?

I may be wrong, and I am sure flames will follow, but I don't think Phil is playing the KBS we are all used to.  It is V.2 or version two; what that means I do not know, but for Phil to even consider it; it must be good.

I would tend to also agree that he is probably gaming a slightly tweaked version...... I have been trying to get some information on the V2 or Version 2 shaft but haven't had any luck....... Anyone ????????

speeder, the v.2 are lower spinning and launching than the kb tours.  Honestly, they are the closest thing to DG's I've ever seen.  Kim has been working on these for some time now.  Not sure if or when they will be released to the pubic.

I agree!  Good grief, the cynicism is getting rampant around here.

I've got no insider info, no pics, but I did watch 'The Range' last night and he was clearly warming up with a shaft that had the KBS sticker on it.  It was the early morning scene where he was back to back on the range with Tiger.  Whether he was testing or not, I'm unaware, but he was hitting a wedge with KBS in it.

Ha...or a PX with a KBS shaft label to get a bunch of GolfWRXers all fired up on a Thursday morning!!

I'm gonna need proof that you were watching "The Range" before you make any claims that you were watching "The Range" Posted Image

Seriously, though, I completely agree. the cynicism is getting a little ridiculous.

Not even sure why this was worth the debate. Pics were posted and Greg confirmed, that's all I needed really.

Phil's copying me, obviously. I played an Ahina in my RHT and KBS Tours in my X-Protos for the past two seasons. Until switching iron shafts this year at least. He needs to resubscribe to my Twitter to stay up to date on my WITB.

This is not directed at any one person but the negativity, lack of trust and level of doubt are incredible, here, anymore. Anytime someone posts a claim of any kind the typical ???'s and comments that follow are:

"How do YOU know?"

"What proof do YOU have?"

"Do you have pictures to substantiate your claim?"

"Those pictures don't prove anything?"

"You need better pictures.....the ones you posted don't prove anything"

"I won't believe it 'til I see it with my own eyes or you can post a video, sworn testimony or bring that person with you here to this site to back your claims"

"Just because the owner of the company is working with him AND he's been spotted playing them, doesn't mean anything."

"My brother's wife's cousin's sister's co-worker's aunt's doctor's 3rd wife's bartender says differently.....and I believe them"

....and the hits keep right on coming.

The times we live in (like this site) have really changed. It's a cynical world we live in, isn't it? I'd love to post that I know Phil's agent ("the coach"), worked with Gaylord Sports prior to their recent acquisition, know several of the closest people around Phil, and as a result, also know he is testing KBS shafts but I'd be asked to prove all that, too, and I won't play that game so I'll keep that to myself and folks can draw their own conclusions. When doubters do finally have their "proof," then it will all be old news.

These pictures are from yesterday at Bay Hill.

Whatever KBS he hit or may try is only because he was playing a pro-am round.  Not much different than if you let your buddy hit one of your clubs just to try it, hit it, or if you have another set of irons with shafts different than the ones you regularly play.
