Hey Guys...instead of posting an update on my old WITB, decided to just do an all new one, as there has been a lot of changes thanks to this STUPID forum (who am i kidding? i love this place).

anyways i'll just let the pics do the talking...feel free to leave your thoughts, and comments Posted Image

first the big sticks:
Titleist 910 D3 9.5 - Oban devo 6 05 44.75" C1 setting
Titleist 910 F 17.5* - Oban devo 7 05 42.75" C1 setting
IMG_0433.JPG IMG_0434.JPG

the precision instruments:
Ping s56 4-pw - +1/2" green dot, kbs tour S hardstepped
Ping Tour-S 50, 54, 58 - +1/2" green dot, kbs tour S (like the softer feel on my wedges)
IMG_0438.JPG IMG_0439.JPG

Lastly my new pride and joy (not sure if i will ever actually use her, MIGHT just stick with my odyssey)
Bettinardi BB-1 Widebody Fruity Pebbles
note: my backups include Ping Anser, Ping Pickem'up Belly, Betti Sig 2
IMG_0435.JPG IMG_0436.JPG IMG_0437.JPG

and finally a quick pic of everything together in my Sun Mountain 2011 H2N0, oh and before i forget i use Golf Pride New Decade Multi's in all my clubs, and iomic midsize in my putters: I'm considering ditching my nike/vr towel and getting a bettinardi players towel. Anybody know a good place to get one of those?

How's that ballflight  and everything else with your d3 and oban devotion?  I have a d3 8.5 with a whiteboard 73stiff, and just bought a oban 6 05 flex like your's and was curious what might be different.

very nice bag

Thanks for the compliments!

D3 with Oban is still relatively new for me, but so far i must say i really like it. (quick fyi: I swing about 113 mph, but have a very quick tempo)

Average about 285 with maybe one or two drives per round breaking the 300 barrier (if i'm lucky). Being up here in canada there is limited options with club fitters and as such i've almost "accidentally" run into this combo. I have a high ball flight and i had originally bought the 910 with a DI-6x shaft (hence my picture) but i foudn that to hit way to high and became uncontrollable almost. I then moved to the whiteboard 73x, but that was humble pie for me, i was not able to flex the shaft at all and i actually lost distance only hitting about 275 avg. So i have since stuck with the oban as it produces a pretty mid/low flight for me and has lots of roll, i believe when i was hitting it in simulators the launch angle was right around 13* which i personally do like.

Biggest difference i found b/w the whiteboard and oban is feel. Although that is very subjective and may not apply to you, the whiteboard to me was very boardy, while the oban was much smoother while producing a slightly higher ball flight to increase my carry yardages. Hope this helps

a good freind and teaching pro of mine played that same set up as your driver last season
he too hits it high w spin and he flat out could BOMB his driver

he has a Cobra deal this year now tho, so i THINK hes going ZL ensore w the same OBAN shaft

I had the OBAN in a TM R9 and your right - it is a SMOOOTH smaft bro, really liked it

PS - u get ur bag from Golftown? was it a special order?

thanks enis!

actually the bag was given to me as a gift from a really good friend of mine. Apparently he went out of his way to drive Red Deer (i live in Edmonton) as there was a local course there that had the only one in alberta at the time. (at least that's what i'm told). But this was in 2010, so i'm sure they're more readily available nowadays. The bag is great though i absolutely love it (although it can be on the heavier side, so i sometimes use a ping 4 under :russian_roulette: )

best parts about this bag (aside from everything)
-waterproof ....duh!
-super comfortable, super padded straps

Hey great bag! Those Oban Devotions are sick in the titty driver/wood combo, makes me want to ho all my woods out and start buying :russian_roulette:

Quick question though, are the S56s the first blade/player club, or did you go from forge to the SS s56? Is there a difference in feel if you did, I know some guys LOVE them and I was thinking about replacing my Callaway x-forged with them maybe in the next 6 months.  Thanks man, great bag!

thanks EDL! you should definitely try them, don't think you would regret getting the oban shafts at all

now to your question, i've only been golfing for about 5 years, going into my 6th season now and i started my golf "career" with hand me down nike pro combo (forged) then i bought my first set of irons and they were taylormade r7 tp, then i went to miura cb 501 forged, and now i play ping's

To be perfectly honest with you, IMO if there wasn't a "forged" badge on the club i would be hard pressed to tell any difference on those shots. The pings are teh best irons i've ever played in terms of overall playability. Being a sweeper i hardly take any divots with my irons and i find that the pings have awesome turf interaction from all lies. Best part is that the pings are super forgiving for what they are, love those shots were coming off the face in your mind you're thinking "oh F#$%" and you look up and it ends up on the green (granted maybe some 50-60 ft away, but still on the green). Hope that helps answer your questions in regards to the irons. :friends:

it's a  waterproof waterbottle pouch!

i showed it on picture number 3 from the top...it's the long-ish zipper...i can put a 1 litre nestle pure life in there no problem. I usually keep it opened for easy access and the bottle won't fall out
