Hi All,
I'm not sure if this is the correct subforum for a topic like this, but I thought I'd give it a try.

My wife is interested in learning the game.  So far, shes done great on the range, but is terribly inconsistent.  I can spot several things that could be responsible, but as soon as I try and give a pointer, it becomes pretty clear that she'd rather not hear it from me... Haha.

I was wondering if anyone in the Southern CT area - specifically Fairfield County - had any experience with an instructor that worked with with female golfers?  If its inappropriate to post names or contact info, my mistake, and please feel free to PM me!

Many thanks!

I live in Fairfield County as well, Westport to be exact. When I decided to take lessons, I made the 30 minute or so drive to Milford to go to Mike Gramelis at Golf Galaxy.

I feel that some people cringe when you say your "teacher" is a pro at a store, but he was extremely helpful, nice, and great to my game. Lessons are heavy on video, but for me, that was exactly what I needed to see what I was doing wrong and fix it. After your lesson, he will take a 2-3 minute clip of it and make a video with comments that's emailed to you the same day to watch it whenever you want. I have all of mine saved on my email.

Mike is definitely my suggestion for your area and with coaches I feel like a positive reference is huge, so hopefully his helps you.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply!  We actually decided to go with John Strevens at the Shelton Sports Complex.  We also heard good things about Liz Gentile here in Fairfield, but John came heavily recommended by a friend and was less expensive, so we decided to give him a try.  Her first lesson should be next week, so we'll see how it goes!

A little more pricey but Jordan Lintz is also a really good techer. I took a few lessons with her. She is out of gre4at River in Milford. She has every thing you need there as well. Good Luck
