I thought the layout was good but the conditions if I recall correctly were not good.
Yes, you can see the Pete Dye layout all over!

Fun exercise! Had to really think, as not all of the courses are in my handicap "previously played" listings from years back....(and this will be a good marker so I don't have to rethink it ever...lol). Roughly 120 courses....just made me realize how incredibly lucky I've been to play so many wonderful tracks. :)

Nice, although I do not know of too many courses in Canada, there are a few that we share in common on your USA list.

Go Team USA!

Updates for my trip to AC coming. Played Atlantic City CC today. Nice course, too many green headed flies that made a few holes unplayable.

Southampton Golf Club ; Southampton, NY
The Bridge ; Bridgehampton, NY
Atlantic ; Bridgehampton, NY
Maidstone ; East Hampton, NY

I'm sure a lot of people would love to come out to play 2-6 on my list haha.  It isn't everyday you have an opportunity to play those beauties ! They are simply amazing.

I should also add I'm playing Friars Head & Muttontown CC this upcoming week with a customer of mine, and I'm making a trip to AZ in the middle of January and playing Whisper Rock.  My buddy from the course I used to work at moved there to work in the golf field, and he happened to land a gig at the best course they have to offer!  You know it's got to be something special when Phil Mickelson is a member

I can add Hadley Wood, Hunstanton, Luffenham Heath, and Walton Heath to my list.  Walton Heath Old Course had some incredible holes in the routing, also had tee markers in place from the 1981 Ryder Cup.

I'm only going to list the courses that i feel "deserve" to be on my list of courses played !

Bethpage Black ; Farmingdale, NY
Shinnecock Hills Golf Club ; Southampton, NY
Southampton Golf Club ; Southampton, NY
The Bridge ; Bridgehampton, NY
Atlantic ; Bridgehampton, NY
Maidstone ; East Hampton, NY
The Creek Club ; Locust Valley, NY
Mill River Club ; Oyster Bay Cove, NY
Montauk Downs ; Montauk, NY
Islands End ; Greenport, NY
Nissequogue Golf Club ; Nissequogue, NY
Cherry Valley ; Garden City, NY
Sands Point Golf Club ; Port Washington, NY
Laurel Links Country Club ; Laurel, NY

That's all I can think about right now, but it's also midnight and I've had a long couple of days.  I'll update it if I can think of any other courses to add to the list !

Anytime you need a 4th out on Long Island, I will gladly drive out there for courses 2-6 on your list!

Do you need a 4th?

If I ever need a 4th when I get out on these bad boys, I'll let you know.  But I'll just be honest with you.  When I ask someone " hey want to play The Bridge" etc, most of my buddy's don't respond "no" haha

Rancho Park in L.A. Back in middle 1960's it was my home course. The busiest public course in the USA (at the time, I was told), it was very hard to get a tee time. So, I played as much as I could (not a lot), but hit a large bucket of balls 7 days a week, which was good for the swing. They played the L.A. Open there back then.

Played the Griffith Park courses in L.A. a few times back then.

A few courses in San Diego with my brother.

Tilden Park in Berkeley CA. Nice public course and not expensive. It's my home course now, and I've played it probably close to 500 times.

San Geronimo in Marin County, CA. OK course, played 3 times.

Metropolitan, links style in Oakland, CA. ~3 times.

Lake Chabot, Oakland. Hilly, OK.

Monarch Bay, Oakland. Nice.

Can't think of any others.

I've played over three hundred courses in the 35 years I've been playing, but my top of the list would be (in no particular order):

Sheringham Golf Club - Cromer, UK
The Tribute - The Colony, Tx
Vistoso Golf Club - Tucson, Az
The Eagle & The Falcon - Eglin AFB, Fl

Hopefully will be adding Royal St George and Walton Heath this spring.

I can now add:

Walton Heath Old Course
Hunstanton
Luffenham Heath
Ashridge
Moor Park
The Dukes of St Andrews
Gleneagles King's Course
St Andrews Old Course

All in the UK.  Almost all of the courses on my list I liked; the exceptions being TPC Sawgrass & St Andrews Old Course...both were major disappointments. I've also played Celtic Manor 2010 Course & Gleneagles Centennial Course...they were okay, nothing to write home about.

My three favorites in the UK - Sunningdale, Walton Heath, Woodhall Spa...all heathland courses.

Favorite parklands - The Grove, London Golf Club, Woburn Marquess

Favorite links - Royal Aberdeen,  St Andrews New Course, Hunstanton
