What are the necessities that you have to have in your golf bag?  We all carry around the tools of the trade (clubs, balls, tees, divot tool, etc), but what else do you carry in the bag just in case or to make the average round better.

Here are my must haves:
  • chap stick
  • contact re-wetting drops
  • ipuprofen
  • icy hot roll on
  • athletic tape
Sorry if this has been done.  The season is just starting here in South Dakota and I'm getting everything ready for another season!!!!

April:  New balls, new tees, divot tools, gloves, couple bandaids, ball markers, rain pants

October:  All the above, except the balls are scuffed and mismatched and the tees are broken because they were 'saved' for par 3 holes.  Then throw in loose change, countless gum wrappers, half packs of unused, but now stale gum, loose scorecards, dozens of starter tickets & greens fee credit card reciepts, gloves with holes saved 'in case I need a glove in a pinch.'

Rain gloves, tons of quarters, a Cliff bar(always), water bottle, band-aids, extra pencil, and a sharpie(I don't mark my ball, but I carry a marker just in-case someone is playing the same ball and number as me.)

I usually ride instead of walk, but here's what's in my bag.

iPod
Bluetooth speaker (jabra jambox)
Sharpie
Can Koozie's (both cans and bottle koozies)
Bottle openers
Mosquito spray
Sunscreen
Some change

Those are all the non-golf types of items I can think of that never leave the bag.

The only "must haves" beside clubs and balls are tees and some sort of towel. That's the only two things that will send me scurrying to my locker or into the proshop before teeing off if I realize I've left them out of the bag. And something to use as a ball marker if I'm playing with other people and keeping score. Divot tool is nice, as well.

In truth, I seldom tee off without some kind of snack in the bag too.

FLASK.

And maybe a few balls, some tees, a divot repair, and ball marker.

Bayer low dose aspirin!

I heard somewhere once years ago that conditions out on the golf course are often prime for sudden cardiac arrest. Since then, Ive been carrying some low dose aspirin in a tiny ziplock bag.

Wow you guys don't walk much huh? I'm a walker usually so here's what I carry.
6-10 balls depending on how many holes I'm playing.
tees, usually zero friction so about 50 until I run out.
3-5 gloves, a range glove, a match glove, a practice round glove, and maybe another practice round glove.
Oakleys, eyedrops, a pack of gum, water bottle, maybe a granola bar..
athletic tape, and a large towel ex: titleist players towel, or a big bath towel or something.
