So I just saw the add on golf channel that the golf fix will have Martin Hall teaching with Holly Sonders. Hmmmmm well she is gorgeous and will make watching very easy but you have Martin Hall.....I tried to watch one episode of this guy and couldn't go more then 5 minutes of watching he absolutely drives me crazy with the nasally voice I just cant sit through a show. Anyone else not a fan of the Golf Fix or am I alone.

This isn't late breaking news.  No offense.  3 shows in with HS and there have been threads ad nauseum on the perils of TGC.

just they're not in Tour Talk.  They're in General Golf Talk.

Martin does have good stuff to say.   People are too critical.

Is she a right handed golfer?  She is wearing a glove on her right hand.  She must think that she is Tommy Two Gloves.

Martin Hall's voice is no bargain, but he knows what he's talking about. Watching him teach Holly will be a lot better than watching Haney teach some of the buffoons he works with.

To be technical, it's not the Golf Fix, but School of Golf.

Martin gives great advice and I like that most of his training aids are items I can build from things in my shed.

I've heard that Holly has game and hopefully people seeing her actually hitting golf shots and not just being a pretty talking head on the Morning Drive could encourage more women to play golf or take interest in the LPGA.

I'm for anything that gets people into and promotes the game of golf.

Big fan of the show WITH HS on it.   It's not just Martin droning on and on - but honest to goodness feedback from a person who has better golfing credibility than many on GolfWRX, and she's very easy on the eyes.

They should do the same thing with the blond gal with Michael Breed.  :)

Breed can be a little annoying and downright contradictory at times, and yes Mr. Hall is nasally, and he likes to rhyme (poorly at that) too much.

But both those dudes are interesting in helping your game.  Can't argue with their intentions.

Don't like it?   Don't watch.  Personally..I DVR that stuff

wow...

if you cant get something from martin hall - something wrong?

he cuts through hype & self promotion right to specific fundamentals & drills.

not keeping track - but i've picked up/borrowed more of his insight/drills than everyone else currently on TGC

It's countless tips and tricks with no consistency  lesson to lesson or prefacing of what they're saying to put it into the proper context. In other words, you can't go from speaking towards a demographic of 20+ handicappers to aiming advice at a 3 handicap without more consideration of how you're talking about this. You're not going to hurt a guy who's shooting 75 but you're damn sure going to confuse a guy shooting 95!

Drills are fine.

Rhyming is stupid.

Swings aids are suspicious.

Holly's a homerun. Finally, a serious player!

I don't mind Martin Hall or Michael Breed.  Both have good drills and tips.  I like watching the swings people send in to the Golf Fix.  I have both set on DVR.  Man.  I haven't been watching School of Golf since the season started.  I definitely will now that I know its got HS!

+1 to having Breed do the same thing!

Personally, I like the Academy series with Greg Norman and I thought his advice was pretty simple to understand and straight forward. I could listen to him talk golf without being annoyed. Faldo on the other hand, not so much.

Saw Holly's swing on the show last night. She has a really good swing. Ripped it straight down the middle. I'm glad she's on. And I like Martin Hall. Gives some good tips and advice.

Nothing could make me watch Michael Breed again. Just something rubs me wrong. Lauren Thompson is seriously hot but she couldn't make me watch the golf fix. Unless she was doing it with a guest instructor.

I would always like to see more of Holly, and Lauren and Win.

However, I WILL NOT WATCH Golf Fix OR School of Golf!! Besides the two hosts being extremely annoying, having multiple sources of instruction is bad for your game if you're a decent player.

As one excellent instructor once said, "The Golf Channel and golf magazines keep me in business."

I would agree.  But I would think that people watching golf fix and/or SoG are NOT decent players and need all the help they can get.

When I watch most of it just passes right by me.  I wait for something that relates to MY problems and take a note of that.  I don't see what the problem is

Remember the GC and GD are throwing out 1000's of solutions to the golf swing...and only make sense if YOU know the problem. And there can be 100's of problems :S

Holly is a bombshell, and she's good. Winn Winn.
