Haven't heard much about this device/company of late. I have an early model which generally performed quite well and I expect to use again this season. Just curious if the company survived an increasingly competitive environment and, if so, if they have any new products on the horizon?

Their website is still there and functioning.  Nothing new except for a lower price on the Guru 4.  I have had the Guru 4 since it came out but didn't use it much last year since I purchased the Garmin G1 Wrist watch GPS.  I got tired of having to push the G4 buttons so many times per hole.

Golf GPS was always only a tiny sideline for the company as I recall.  I think commercial GPS applications are their bread and butter.

I have used the Guru4 since the day it came out.  I have had some programming issues with it and a cracked screen which they repaired for about $50.  However, recently I had the same programming problem and tried to contact them.  Their toll free number gets a busy signal.  Their direct number gets a telephone answering system to leave a message.  Evidently they have changed their name to TQI and new president Scott Simpson.

I have sent emails and voicemail with my direct questions.  No response from any of these methods.  I too have relied on my Garmin S1 for distances.  If only it will add my score like the Guru 4 does.

They were updating new courses as recently as April.  But....

Now, I suspect the company has stopped everything.  At least their website works.  At least for synching scores.

Thanks for the update. Sad. I guess the lesson learned is not to select a product from an unproven company that has the potential of becoming "fly-by-night". I may consider the Garmin G6 going forward- I would think they stand a decent chance of being around in a few years and able to support their customers.

My G2 is outstanding product and continues to give me 3 years of solid service. No regrets regardless of the company future.

I think I heard they went out of business a few months back.  Not sure, but I think so.

Yeah not sure what they are doing. I sent them a course correction a few days back and haven't heard if the update was made or not. I will let u know if the course update is made.

A few months back I corresponded with their president about some new business model they had and suddenly the communication stopped without closure.

It's too bad because when they were in operation they had first rate customer service. My G2 is great and was years ahead of the market. Today still nothing supplies as much info in a very simple easy to use format as the G2.

Now I'm eyeing a Garmin g6 but I think I'd miss the simplicity of the golf guru. I will hold out till the golf guru Site goes away and I can't load courses.

Well its been almost two weeks since I requested a simple map update (swap front - back 9's) on a local course and unfortunately I have heard nothing and nor has the update been made when I sync'd my device.

I really wonder whats going on at GG?  I just hope they keep their website up so we can download existing maps when we need them.
