I work at a private country club as a locker room attendant.  Probably  50% are white shoes!  White shoes are very difficult keeping clean over the life of the shoe!  They scuff very easy and are hard to coverup the blemishes!!   I've been working as a locker room attendant since 05 and haven't purshase apair of white shoes since.  They ' re beautiful at first site, hard to maintain!

I'm a huge fan of white shoes, but technically I'd wear black shoes too...only with long pants. I just personally don't like the look of black golf shoes with shorts. I'd do coloured shoes as well, but only if I had a matching belt.

Quick fashion question: does wearing black golf shoes with black shorts look bad? I mostly wear black shorts and am in the new market for new shoes...

it depends on what type of shoe you're wearing with your shorts. the more-athletic looking black shoes (like my ecco street premiers) look fine when i wear black shorts. In fact anytime I play in shorts I use my ecco's. If i'm wearing colored slacks, I'll use my white, nike lunar controls. I also wear the ecco's with my black slacks depending on what color shirt I'm wearing.

I wear the TW 13's and have them in white, black and the masters edition green and white.  I play the whites on the nice dry days and go with the blacks on the wet soggy days. I have been doing this for years and seems to work great.  Think about adding a colorful TW14 Nike ID soon.

I guess the thing is that white shoes (regardless of how clean you can keep them) go well with every single colour or outfit choice, there is not one single colour of trouser which looks odd with white shoes, whereas black trousers don't look quite so classy with white, beige/khaki or grey trousers and usually only look good with black trousers (in my opinion)

I always prefer wearing white shoes.  I just seem to like them better than black for some reason out on the course.  I'm currently wearing the Nike Lunar Controls (white) but looking forward for the Nike Free's to come out.

I wear both...depending on outfit. One thing thst I ALWAYS DO...match the shoes to the belt. It's the law, shoes MUST match the belt.

I have 2 pair of Lunar Controls, white and black to better match what I decide to wear. I dress the part pretty well even though my game is awful.

Is this communist Russia?   Are our choices limited?    "Colored shoes"???

In life and in golf... brown shoes are usually better than white or black.   Brown shoes go with khaki, they go with blue, they go with olive green, they go with lots of stuff.    You should be wearing mostly brown shoes every day.    To answer the question, I have 3 pairs of brown golf shoes, 1 pair of brown/white saddles, 1 pair of black golf shoes, and one pair of white golf shoes with black accents on them.

I hope you aren't just wearing white or black shoes to work... unless you're a waiter, then yes go with the white or black only.

Always preferred white shoes for golf. Although I didn't like changing from steel cleats to composite cleats for the longest time. Yet I don't miss seeing an older gentlemen drag his steel cleats on the putting green.
