Yes, Grant and I were with Robert this week at the Accenture World Match Play. We will be with him again at Doral as well. Robert is as good a guy as you could hope for and we expect great things from him on the course.

As a balding mid-20s guy, I would take the hair.  My swing and game are getting better, but I can't do anything about the hair...

I really love this swing as well.  I watched him on the range at the US Open at congressional last year.  He went through his whole routine and then hit 30 balls or so with his R11 right off the deck.  A nice running fade that was cool as hell to watch.  He also has and exceptional head of hair on him.

A lot of Ben Hogan in that transition.  It's a pretty complicated move....more going on there than the average tour player.

Not only do you not know what I'm getting at (which any good instructor should IMO), the one random comment isn't even valid. Robert Rock has a straighter trail leg than Charlie Wi at p4.

Mr Waite's best ball striking years on tour were from 1995-2000.Does anyone have  videos of his swing from that period.The same question  for Mac O'grady from the 1980's before his back flared up.

Thank you Mr Rock for not wearing one of the biggest blights of the modern game.  The baseball cap/forehead advertising hoarding.  Players even wear these caps in doors.  Bad manners and poor style.

Camera angles no doubt can make a slight difference .Mr Rock's video looks like it is filmed straight on,while Mr Waite's looks like it is filmed from slightly in front.Now are you saying  that  points that I made would disappear with  a straight on camera angle?And some of these differences  define the S+t  pattern


And your responses have gotten nastier and nastier to me over a period of time.The only thing that I have stated in my posts concerning you  is to identify yourself as an S+t advocate.What is the problem with that?  In  fact there have been times where i have defended you . Just because we disagree about swing ideas is no reason to make  sarcastic remarks. i would bet that the conversation would be much more informative and interesting  if MVMAC responded  instead of you.

My swing ideas are probably the closest to what S+t advocates among anyone on Golfwrx who disagrres with the S+t model
About 3 weeks ago, I describe the setup and lack of lateral movement with a wedge.Among the responses was one by an S+t advocate who described my response as a description of an s+t swing .

I must apologize. I did not mean to derail the thread into a "pissing match." I have just grown tired of the misinformation.

Grant and Robert have extremely similar swings. To say otherwise has to come from an interest in them being different IMO. Yes, there are (or were) differences (CP vs CF), but we are talking about relatively minor differences. Its not like someone was comparing Rock's motion to Fowler or Furyk.

I don't have an issue with a different opinion. I have issues with opinions that are backed by obviously incorrect information or are expressed to further an agenda. IE: saying that Grant has a straight right leg when its fairly obvious that he has about as much knee flex as Robert. Or blowing an extremely small detail out of proportion because you think what Grant teaches is "garbage."

Cbrian, I think you are off base with Russ here. J would agree that the swings are similar but would argue that differences are key differences (cp vs. cf is huge) not minor. Just because a swing can look similar in high speed does not mean they are similar in the details and the details are where the rubber meets the road IMO. I understand why you get defensive but IMO Russ is spot on here with some key things that have a big difference. For what it's worth I like both golf swings for the most part and would love both with one or two tweaks
